Publisher's Summary
Chaurisse and Dana have a lot in common. They both grew up in Atlanta, they shop at the same stores, visit the same restaurants. But unlike Chaurisse, Dana knows the truth: that the girls share the same father. A father with two families, one of which he is determined to keep secret. When the girls meet and become friends, the unsteady balance of both their lives is threatened. Theirs is a relationship destined to explode.

A book about secrets but above all a book about love. Never judge a person because everyone has a story.

there wasn't much of a plot
I felt a bit like I missed something listening to this, but there really wasn't much of a plot. Everything seems to happen as expected. There are some interesting reflections on life in that decade, love, motherhood and marriage, but if you want a gripping storyline then this is not the book for you.

I wanted to know what happened next!
Easy to listen to and enjoyable. I liked the performance, particularly of the 2nd narrator. I listened to the whole book in 2 days as I wanted to know what happened!

Ordinary lives compellingly observed
Close observations revealing complexity of human behaviour. Compelling listening, beautifully narrated. Loved the story, the voices were captivating.
