Publisher's Summary

The simple revolution has begun. From the design of the iPod to the uncluttered Google homepage, simple ideas are changing the world. Simple Church clearly calls for Christians to return to the simple gospel-sharing methods of Jesus. No bells or whistles required, so to speak.

Based on case studies of 400 American churches, authors Thom Rainer and Eric Geiger prove that the process for making disciples has quite often become too complex. Simple churches are thriving, and they are doing so by taking these four ideas to heart: Clarity. Movement. Alignment. Focus. Each idea is examined here, simply showing why it is time to simplify.

Fantastic Philosophy - Would like more scripture

Fantastic Philosophy - Would like more scripture. This is a highly practical book. I personally would like to see more scripture in it but I understand how it goes - every book can't say everything or it will often say nothing. However, this book pairs well with DiscipleShift. The two together are very compelling.

wow

this was probably the simplest and what should be the most evident need in most churches today. truly accessing what is happening within your body is crucial for success. keeping it simple in every area truly is the key to getting more done.

Phenomenal....

In a world that typically demands so much variety and opportunity, it's refreshing to hear how powerful simplicity is.

lacking

maybe this book and it's ideas are helpful to those that look to men and their scholarship for practical ways to do church. I think this book lacked biblical foundation for the "how". IMO Christian leaders are looking to much to other people's wisdom and going with that instead of depending on the source of all wisdom. These authors are no exception.

Biblical church strategy at it's purest

I so wish that this was required Bible college reading. We have already begun to implement this at our church and we are seeing God bless and people grow!

Many pearls of wisdom

I listened to this as a Christian teacher who wishes to simplify my corner of the education sector. There are many crossovers between churches and Christian schools.
