Publisher's Summary

A man who thrives on wickedness and counts on forgiveness, Curtis Black proclaims to his wife, Charlotte, that he will sin no more. He's finally learned his lesson about straying, and he's got the repercussions of his past misdeeds to remind him. First there's his new baby daughter, Curtina, and her mother, Tabitha, Curtis' former mistress, who demands that the preacher be a part of their lives - or else! Then the interim pastor, who took over while Curtis was on a book tour, threatens to blackmail Curtis if he tries to push him out of the pulpit. But Curtis isn't the only one who has transgressed. In their darkest moments, husband and wife must ultimately work together to save their family, their marriage, and their souls.

Couldn't put it down!

Shame on me for not doing my reseach, but I knew I'd read this author's work before. What I didn't realize is that this book continues a storyline from 2 others I've enjoyed. What a pleasant surprise! This story deconstructs flawed Christians, people with SERIOUS issues, not goody-too-shoe, "holier than thou" folks. It tells of their shortcomings and growth. In some ways, it helped me appreciate the real power of forgiveness, salvation and God's love for us despite our wrongdoings. The narrator was AMAZING with her range of voices and the author's storytelling was SUPERB. Thank you for giving us an entertaining production.

Shockingly good

Was really hesitant to buy another Curtis Black audiobook but I can definitely say this was the best one so far. Plenty twists and turns that really kept me on my toes. I guess I'll make this series one of my must buys again.

Enjoy the book very much.

It kept me entertained and waiting to see what was next I felt Charlotte was wrong for not letting Curtis see his daughter.

When past comes a knocking

This is a continuation of the Blacks life and drama that is unfolding. Their love was definitely put to the test. Mrs. Black was living a life of double standards. I can appreciate how she allowed Matthew to have an opportunity to get to know the person he thought was his father. I would love to see her grow as a character if the author continues with this family.

Charlotte is just so UGH

I appreciate the story however Charlotte is just the most agitating and hypocritical character. Just ugh. EVERYTIME she said something I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

Same Story

I feel like it's the same story just a different characters or back and forth between characters. Very predictable.

Needs a new narrator

Whoever the narrator is, her voice is like an earache to the brain... she sounds like a mouse, especially when she does the female characters. Overall, I enjoy the Curtis Black series

This is a book in a series

So I had no idea that there was a “Rev Black” series because this was my first Kimberla book. Because I read out a sequence I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Don’t be like me. Start in the authors intended order. I loved the narration! Tracey Leigh didn’t disappoint.

Enjoyed it

The story was a bit far fetched, however it was very entertaining. I guess I’ll move on to the next in the series.
