Story
I am going to die here. My name is Mindy Mason; I’m a student from the University. I volunteered for one experiment; it was to be for one day only. I want to go home now. I hear cries, screams, and shrieks in the night. Some of the voices sound as if they are coming from the pillow under my head, others as if from a radio behind a door in a far room, and yet others come from my dreams, thus layering my terror. I know Wendy has a knife; perhaps she has killed again. How can I stop her?

Story
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Story
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

A- Horror Collection!
Collections are tough when it comes to pleasing everyone and as always, some of these stories worked better for me than others. Overall, however, I enjoyed this collection greatly. The stories run the gamut from a bit creepy to totally sinister. The stand out for me here, however, is Paul Burt. He has such a unique voice and he delivers a fabulous performance in these stories. I would recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys short form horror!

Weird and Creepy More Than Sinister Horror
I love horror anthologies and usually love collections of horror short stories. Usually collections are a mixed bag of good and bad, but that is the nature of collections. Each person likes different things and usually won’t like them all. I really enjoyed the first few stories, but thought that as the book progressed the stories drifted off into the more bizarre and didn’t necessarily fit into the horror genre. Eventually they were just strange tales that didn’t always resonate with me. I will definitely give this another go as sometimes I need to listen to books more than once for them to click with me.
Really enjoyed the narration of Paul Burt. His character voices and narration really made the stories much more interesting. He seemed to vary his voices between each story often making me check if there was more than one narrator. Burt’s narration is alone worth checking these creepy tales out.

Interesting Collection
Anthologies are always fun. With so many stories, we get to see a variety of writing styles from the same author. I liked some of the stories in this book more than others, but none of them were bad. A few were on the odd end of the spectrum, but all in all, I thought they were each interesting in their own way.
The narrator was almost theatric in his performance, changing up voice between characters and stories. Definitely made for an interesting listen.

Good Stories, Great Narration
This was a good collection. They weren't the scariest stories, but I don't think horror has to be scary to be horror. Sometimes it can just be about atmosphere. I thought The Ghost of a Melody was particularly pretty. The varied narration was definitely a strong point in the listen.

Interesting Set of Stories
This is an interesting set of short horror stories in a varied set of categories which keeps it entertaining and exciting. There aren't too many stand outs, but none of them are stinkers so it's a pretty level collection. Things aren't too over the top either, so there's an emphasis on feeling and creepiness rather than visceral horror. The narration is solid as well.

A really great mix for the horror genre
really enjoyed the collection
some very memorable stories
looking forward to more!
Well read by Paul Rudd though a little distracting at times was a great match with the stories.
some dark and brooding, some thriller and even some dark humour.
great for listening, easy to listen in big chunks as well as small doses. some feel like small parts of big worlds and others self contained.
I've been on and off listening for about a month and some stories still stick with me.
would deffo recommend for easy listening horror....if that's a thing I think K.C.Finn might have invented it

A great variety of chilling tales
First of all I have to say that the cover immediately grabbed my attention. The stories are the perfect length to listen to in bite size sittings . There is a brilliant variety with each story being unique . My personal favourite was 'the damned bus' I dont want to spoil it for anybody though. I think there is something in this collection that will appeal to all readers and it's the perfect time over the halloween season to listen. I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review

A wonderfully chilling collection
There is a great variety in the stories brought together in this collection; all with a suitable spine-tingling theme for the time of year (I write in October, so Halloween is everywhere right now).
From futuristic to freed slaves, to the twisting of fate around their feet - every character we meet faces their own, very different challenges within their very own world. I would be hard pressed to choose a particular favourite, as each one does stand on its own merits, though Being Frank, Demon's in the Details, Glassman's Promise and Bleeding of the Thief were among my favourites; and I'd be interested to find out what happens next to Lorelai, in Fallow Heart.
The narrator does a splendid job of bringing to life the range of characters we encounter, keeping each one recognisable and individual. Some of his voices were enough to bring a chill, all on their own. If you listen to a lot of audiobooks, you'll no doubt have come across those occasions where a reader's delivery of a certain word strikes you as odd - but there's no reoccurring word in here to cause a jolt every few minutes. In fact, the reading flows so smoothly, I found my commute sailing by.
In summary: if you like horror and are looking for something fresh, I heartily recommend you give Sinister Sentiments a listen. You won't be disappointed.
