Publisher's Summary

Dirk lives in the shadows - performing hits, maintaining order, and upholding the no-holds-barred legacy of the Sinner's Creed Motorcycle Club. A nomad with a restless spirit and a cold heart, the open road is his world. One of the few constants in his life is his desire for the one woman who has consumed his thoughts for years.

Saylor Samson grew up far from the harshness of Dirk's world. But ever since she was 17 she's been drawn to this dark and mysterious man who always seemed to show up just when she needed him. After years of fated encounters, he's back. This time he's taking her. This time she's ready for the ride. But just when the darkness in Dirk's life begins to fade, Saylor reveals a secret that puts them both to the ultimate test. Now Dirk has to make a decision: submit to his destiny with the MC - or choose his own.

There Is No HEA

This starts out as an amazing story of brotherhood, infatuation that turns into true love, and ends like a tragic Romeo & Juliet love story. The only problem is, by the time I realized that there was no way for this story to end well, I had already passed the 80% finished mark, so I sucked it up and listened till the end. So #1 this ends very tragically #2 that means it’s not romance. Romances end happily, everyone knows this. Thank god this didn’t cost me any money or a credit. Now if you want the summery of how this all ends, look farther down.

***Spoiler!***

Saylor withers away from a disease in her brain that isn’t curable, and basically dies a painful and slow death. As a result of Saylor’s death, Dirk stops feeling, and stops wanting to live, which leads him into letting an enemy MC take him out, and the next thing you know, Dirk wakes up in a version of Heaven, on a beach, with a healthy and very happy Saylor waiting to greet him. Thee motherfucken end.

I KNOW IT WAS DIFFERENT... BUT SADLY IT'S NOT FOR ME

I know I'm going to be in the minority here but I really have to be true to my feelings because I really didn't enjoy the second half of this listen.... it started off well as Nomad Dirk, the cold and ruthless Enforcer/Executioner for the MC, kept crossing paths with a young girl who is constantly in his thoughts.... Saylor. We're told nothing of Saylor so there's lots of unanswered questions and a mystery behind her character. But, over the years as Saylor turned into a woman, Dirk, who is a strict loner and loves it that way, just can't keep away from her.... and then one night Fate serves her up to him and, yet again, he becomes her rescuer.

However, there is a vulnerability between both of them and they're happy to take things slowly and easy, to become friends, enjoying each other's company and there's no need for many words or explanations between them.... just acceptance. Saylor isn't pushy, demanding or bitchy - she's just glad to be with Dirk.... and Dirk knows he's making a mistake but he just can't help himself.

Then the story takes on a deep and depressing turn and I prefer HEA endings to a romance story and not to suffer through very miserable heartache and dark emotional scenes. No spoilers but this did not leave me happy that I'd listened to it nor did it give me that warm fuzzy feeling as I left it. Told from Dirk's POV, rival and inner MC violence and trouble and I thought the narration was great.

Worth a credit? No, not for me, I like escapism, but I do realize that there is strength and a powerful love story within this listen.... sadly though I love a HEA ending.

Fantastic Narration!!!

Any additional comments?

All I can say is that I freaking loved this book! I will not read books that have certain themes or elements to them. I did not know that this was one of those books and I am so glad I did not know because I would have missed out on one of the best books I have read. I was about a third of the way in when I realized it was only Dirks POV. It worked beautifully. I listened to the audio version and it was so raw, emotional and gritty that I was crying for the last 3 hours. I am really looking forward to the second book and hope that not only does it come out on Audible, but that they use the same narrator. He was phenomenal and perfect for this book!

5 Sinner's Creed Stars

Wow, this is unlike any MC book I have ever read or will ever read.
It started off slow but boy does it suck you in. My heart is a mess right now. I have so many feelings about Dirk and Saylor and I can’t put them into words.

These characters are all so different but exactly who you expect and want them to be. I don’t know if that makes any sense but in my head it does.

Saylor is the light and Dirk is the dark and everyone else is the shadows and this book shows you that the Dark can become light for the right person. I just am in awe of how this book got under my skin the way it did.

It is not your regular romance by any stretch of the imagination but it still leaves your heart so very full and maybe a little sad too.

Joe Arden, this man narrates the heck out of this book, he may not put the emotion in his voice often but when he does look out because you will be putty in his hands.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I hate to give a bad review but this book just did

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I never could get into the story and really did not like the book hero (wow I can't even say that about him as He was evil) I usually love a MC book but not this one.
It was just plain sad

What could Kim Jones have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

narrator was great and did a fine job so not her fault I didn't like book

What about Joe Arden’s performance did you like?

narrator was great and did a fine job so not his fault I didn't like book

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Sinner's Creed?

the end

***WARNING*** No HEA! Maybe SPOILERS!

What can I say... I get a book that is supposed to be a romance (and it is included in the Romance Package with a majority of positive reviews), but it is not a romance. If I were to put it into a category, it would be a tragedy.

Joe Arden was great as usual, so he gets my 5 Stars.

This story is beautifully written, don’t get me wrong, but the story takes a turn, and the outcome looks bleak, so I wait, and wait, and wait for something to change, after all this is fiction, this is romance, right? Well, no change of fate, and no HEA. I have enough tragedy in my everyday life to be put through the wringer, and not get my happily ever after.

At the end, this story has the same result as Romeo and Juliet’s story, not the same story, just the same end result.

All I can say is this was not for me. I always want my warm and fuzzy feelings by the end of the story, no matter the obstacles of the journey, I need my HEA!!!

Sad story

I am a very emotional person so this was a very sad story for me. I wish I would have known that before I started listening to it. If I would have known I probably wouldn't have read it. If you like sad stories then this book is for you

Unexpected and New

While this wasn't what I expected, a slightly different version of other MC books with some romance thrown in for fun, what I got was just as good. I enjoyed the slow build of a story, a strong couple to love, and I story I couldn't have anticipated. This is a romance for sure, but in a completely different and new way.

Perhaps my favourite book ever

So I'm a blubbering mess right now... but this isn't a girly weepy book. On the contrary, it's gritty and dark, told from the point of view of a hero who's on the cusp of being a full blown sociopath. The queen of MC romance has been quoted praising this book because Kim Jones has such a deep understanding of the MC world. I actually think the real impact this story makes comes from Kim Jones' understanding of what it's like to fight for relationships, dignity, and hope when death isn't merely knocking on but bashing down the door.
Without giving away too much, I just want to say that for someone who's in a similar position and has gone through all the horrors the heroine endures, I admire Ms Jones for her ability to tap into the emotional journey that accompanies the descent into cancer (and chemo) hell. She gets it, and she treats this subject matter with respect. And if the occasional quiver in Joe Arden's voice is any indication, this awesome narrator gets it too. I read the ebook when it first came out, and have reread it several times since. But listening to this audio version takes it to a whole new level.
A truly awesome story, beautifully translated to audiobook by one of my favourite narrators.
