Publisher's Summary

Miss Marple meets Oscar Wilde in this new series of cosy mysteries set in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Bunburry.

Harold Wilson, police sergeant in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Bunburry, loathes Alfie McAlister. Alfie is handsome, popular, a self-made multimillionaire - and worst of all, he and his friends Liz and Marge are much better than the police at catching villains. But Sergeant Wilson loathes one person even more - Bunburry's vicar, Philip Brown - and is thrilled by the chance of locking him up for a local crime. When Reverend Brown refuses to defend himself or produce an alibi, it's up to the Bunburry Triangle to uncover what's going on.

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series Piece of Cake. He is also the lead in the BBC series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

Loved the crime wasn’t a murder

I so enjoy cozy mysteries, which usually have a non-gruesome murder. But It was such a delightful surprise in this tale that the crime wasn’t a murder. I won’t spoil it for you. Also there was more character development. These Bunberry mysteries are great- a nice length, and performed so well by Nathaniel Parker. Best to listen in order of publication- in my opinion.Enjoy!

In love with this series!

If you’re looking for a well written mystery series that doesn’t leave you white-knuckling the steering wheel or your stomach churning, Bunburry is a terrific series. The stories in this series have been short and sweet with interesting characters, imaginative plots, and strong friendships within the story. Nathaniel Parker does a terrific job with the narration. Makes me wish I lived in Bunburry! ;-)

Weak story

This story is pretty weak, even for this light, quick read series. The narrator is OK with male characters, but his female characters sound awful, especially the aunts. And, the "Burberry Triangle " and the "Bunberry Parallels"?? No. This series is getting progressively worse with each episode.

JM

The narrator is superb as usual, but the story and the characters are just became more and more unbearable.

One of the best of the series

This is a sweet series of cozies, the main character, Alfie, is a rarity, as cozies seem to feature women
as the main protagonist. This is set in the sweet town of Bunburry replete with eccentric characters.
This one features a mysterious robbery, a mysterious drifter who is a dead ringer for the Vicar and
of course the loveable, bumbling Alfie... these go down easy.

I love this series and this is my favorite story

The mysteries in this series are short but complete and such fun to listen to. Nathaniel Parker brings each and every character to life. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Loved it …

Really cosy continuation, love to just curl up after a busy week and escape into the world of Bunburry, Nathaniel is just the best narrator, along with Sam Dewhurst-Phillips of the Karen Menuhin series..love both of these equally, and hope they go on forever…keep them coming please..
