Publisher's Summary

A cyberattack on an obscure US dam leaves thousands dead and the government wondering who attacked it, and why. When they realize it is just the tip of the iceberg - and that the safety of all of America is at stake - the president has no choice but to call in Luke Stone.

Head of an elite, disbanded FBI team, Luke does not want the job. But with new enemies - foreign and domestic - closing in on her from all sides, the president can only trust him. What follows is an action-packed international roller-coaster, as Luke learns that the terrorists are more sophisticated than anyone realizes, that the target is more extensive than anyone could image - and that there is very little time left to save America.

A political thriller with non-stop action, dramatic international settings, unexpected twists and heart-pounding suspense, Situation Room is book three in the Luke Stone series, an explosive new series that will leave you listening late into the night.

too socially liberal

never going to read another one of his books, non-stop hating of the country and always trying to be socially conscious.

Suspend disbelief and enjoy!!

The ability to suspend disbelief is important to enjoying most fiction. Enjoyment of Situation Room and the other two novels in the Luke Stone espionage thriller series requires a strong determination to maintain the suspension of disbelief. Action and suspense junkies will enjoy this series. The series is not great literature; heck, it is not even good literature, but is a wild and fun ride. That a top fashion model could become US president and that a US espionage agent reporting directly to the former fashion model goes in to North Korea and kills its leader are not the most difficult situations to believe.

From the sublime to the ridiculous

The narrator did what he could with the plot. Anyone who can read what sound like campy TV batman fight sounds ( KaPow) deserves credit. There were so many places where the reader/listener was expected to suspend belief in not only technical and political reality but also the mere passage of time that this would be better characterized as a fantasy novel.

Another Luke Stone "sit on the edge of your seat" thriller

Fast moving and tense. Move over Mitch Rapp, there's a new hero in town, very exciting!

Great Action

Great action like the previous Luke Stone books, but Jack Mars is starting to write more distracting tally ramblings and musings the halt the momentum and are longer than necessary, hence the three stars.

Enjoyable listen

I liked this book of the series, but missed the "team" characters & atmosphere of the previous actions.
I did get a bit annoyed by the narrator's mispronunciation of certain words: NUCLEAR 😜 being the most bothersome...otherwise he's a very good narrator.

A little too much gratuitous drama for me.

I'm trying to follow the story line from book to book. But it's getting so convoluted with a woman president with a homosexual husband 🙄, while the protagonist runs off to invade N. Korea with only 4 other men (after he breaks out a friend from a federal prison with only a couple buddies) & ends up KILLING Kim Jong-un. And as he runs out of bullets and the whole N. Korean army is literally coming through the door... who (again, literally) drops from the sky and kills or captures the N. Koreans? The communist Chinese! This book got SO outlandish I think I'm going to save my money on any more in the series and go back to non-fiction for a while.

This is a tale of the many different attitudes and divergences in the US government and global relationships. I won’t say more ..... just read it!

How to pronounce the word ‘nuclear’

It’s ‘newclear’ not ‘newcular’
Otherwise a good listen.
A well structured and delivered Luke Stone thriller.
