Is your team always stressed out? Are the priorities set by your management unclear? Are you unsure of what every member of the team is working on? If the answer to any of the above questions is yes, then this book will guide you to success. Kanban is a tool that helps teams and organizations concentrate on work and create a shared focus across different departments. It was developed by Taiichi Ohno in the late 1940s to improve the work done by the manufacturing department in Toyota. David Anderson defined the method when he used the tool to improve software development in the IT industry. It is becoming a popular way to visualize the workflow and also limit any work-in-progress items in different industries.

Story
In this intriguing business novel, which illustrates state-of-the-art economic theory, Alex Rogo is a UniCo plant manager whose factory and marriage are failing. To revitalize the plant, he follows piecemeal advice from an elusive former college professor who teaches, for example, that reduction in the efficiency of some plant operations may make the entire operation more productive. Alex's attempts to find the path to profitability and to engage his employees in the struggle involve the listener; and thankfully the authors' economic models.

Good basic overview of the subject
The good: The book is well organized. It's also very concise and efficient. It would be a great 1st book, so you can simply understand what Six Sigma is.
The not as good: The title might lead you to believe that this book is a practical how-to on implementing Six Sigma, but it is really just an overview, which also includes some tips on how to avoid pitfalls.
The bad: Often, there are no more pauses between sentences or paragraphs, than there are between words in a sentence. The narration timing kept me from purchasing other books in the series.
