Publisher's Summary

Reindeer Games Christmas Tree Farm is going into the B&B business, and Holly White is looking forward to her new role as innkeeper. Even better, Mistletoe, Maine's sheriff, Evan Gray, has deputized his little sister, Libby, to help Holly wrap presents for Mistletoe's toy drive. But a cold wind ruffles the cheery holiday decorations when a new guest checks in: Cleo, a vicious B&B critic who could make or break the new inn. And the short December days turn even darker when Evan and Libby find Cleo's dead body in the gift-wrapped toy donation box.

The suspect list is longer than Santa's naughty list, and local resident Cookie is on it, since her fingerprints are all over the murder weapon, a metal nutcracker that she gave to Holly. But cranky Cleo was an oh-holy-nightmare to lots of the townsfolk, such as Evan's reporter friend Ray; Christopher, the inn's former contractor; and confectioner Bonnie, whose Gum Drop Shop was a direct target of Cleo's scathing prose.

To figure out the killer's identity and clear Cookie's name, Holly and her friends brainstorm at The Hearth, the farm's café, while her mother keeps them fueled with Christmas goodies fresh from the oven. But if they can't put the culprit on ice, Holly may never see another Christmas.

Heartwarming

I came upon the first book in the series by accident. I loved it so much! Couldn’t wait to read the next two. My only regret is that there isn’t another waiting for me!!

find another cozy book, this one not worth the time

Too much whiny dialogue. Previous books were slightly better. and to ruin a wedding because she has to fix everyone's problems whether they want it or not.

The perfect holiday mystery!!

I loved this book! This is the 3rd book in the A Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. By far my favorite one! I honestly had no idea who the killer was. It was fun to see the characters relationships develop even more- and that ending was everything! It melted my heart! Can’t wait to see what Jaqueline Frost writes next!

Love this series!

All three of this series are amazing. I love Holly and the twists and turns she goes through. I can never guess the killer. I hope more books come out, I literally waited on this one for months.

One of the best romantic Christmas mysteries

I really love this whole series but this one is the best! Romance and mystery combined with a great story and great narration. A murder to solve, a wedding to plan and attend at the inn and all in the midst of the Christmas holiday in a perfect holiday setting. Holly and family and friends create the perfect setting at their Christmas Tree farm & inn. You could not ask for a better holiday mystery. Can’t say more - too much would be revealed. Just listen as you go about your holiday preparations and enjoy.

Love this series

I absolutely love this series !! The way she tells a story makes you feel like you are right there in the mix of things. The narrator is just as amazing. I don’t want the book to end
Thank you for a lovely series.

I’m crying!!

I hope I don’t have to wait for next Christmas for the next one! I don’t think I can wait. It’s like a cliffhanger on a movie then you have to wait forever for the next one. I love this series.

The perfect holiday cozy mystery!

My only disappointment when I finished this book is that I have to wait a whole year for the next one! It’s a well-written series with fun, believable characters.

Don't waste your time

I listened to the previous books in this series and I liked them. This was just a copy of those two. Same story, same set up, same outcome.

Writing by numbers, really irritating main charact

The only reason I've made it to book 3 is the Christmassy atmosphere. The author's clearly following a formula so book 3 sounds almost identical to the first two.

Nosey woman ("I'm just really curious and I like answers") gets in a huff when a friend is suspected of murder because there's some tenuous circumstantial evidence and goes nosing about asking all the same questions as the sheriff, but with no understanding of how the law works.

Then stupid woman gets warned off by the sheriff and her parents. She ignores them and goes blundering about asking questions of everyone, then gets massively surprised when she gets threatened.

Stupid woman has the attention span of a gnat, gets warned by the sheriff again, and then carries on regardless, etc, etc.

Stephanie Plum meets Christmas

This is great. If you love Janet Evanovich's books you'll love this too. Great fun.

Excellent follow up to the series

I loved the third installment in this series and there were a lot of twists. It had a lovely ending but I felt it was cut a bit short and left a few unanswered questions. hopefully book 4 will be along soon

Well written with great narration

Easy listen, well written detective story with personable characters. Balanced, engaging well pitched narration. Please use this narrator again…

(Warning, narrator for next book in series changed for the worse! Grating, nasal voice distracts from story, struggling to finish the book)

Narration excellent

Highly recommend these stories, easy to listen to whilst doing other things. I have all three in my library and Allyson Ryan’s excellent narration and the well written story have kept me coming back to Mistletoe. Hoping for a fourth.

A wonderful third installment

I have listened to all 3 books back to back, and loved all 3, with the characters and the friendships between them developing further with each story.
I really hope there will be more to follow, with maybe a summer visit to the town too! 😊
