They were kind, gracious, and shared the beauty of Ravenwood, their grand country estate, by hosting lavish parties for the entire countryside. But at 22, he discovered his whole world was an elaborate illusion, and when Devlin publicly called his family to account for it, he was exiled as a traitor. So be it. Publisher's Summary
Growing up with four unruly brothers has made Freyja Bedwyn far bolder than most society ladies. From feisty manner to long, tumbling hair, Lady Freyja is pure fire - a woman who seeks both adventure and freedom.
Adventure soon finds her on a visit to Bath, when a handsome stranger bursts into Freyja's room and entreats her to hide him. His name is Joshua Moore, Marquess of Hallmere, a man with a hell-raising reputation of his own who is quickly intrigued by the independent beauty. So intrigued, in fact, that he makes her a surprising request: to pose as his fiancée and help thwart his family's matchmaking schemes.
For two people determined to be free, it's the perfect plan, until passion blindsides them both. For as Joshua sets out to achieve his complete seduction of Freyja, a woman who has sworn off love is in danger of losing the one thing she never expected to give again: her heart.

Great Series
Lady Freyja Bedwyn is not the usual Regency romance haute ton beauty. In fact she is not a beautiful woman at all, although many would call her handsome, with her prominent nose, dark brows, olive complexion, and mass of fair unruly hair. Her high spirits, independence and competitive ways are anything but ladylike. She was raised with her four older brothers, Wulfric, Duke of Bewcastle, Aiden, Rannulf, Alleyne and younger sister Morgan, and matched her male siblings in all their sporting activities. She was definitely not one to sit still and play the fragile female.
The story opens with Lady Freyja visiting friends in Bath. She has escaped the christening of her ex-fiance's son back home and is depressed by old memories of a time when they were betrothed. She hides her vulnerability behind a veneer of icy pride. In an outrageous encounter on her journey to Bath she meets Joshua Moore, Marquess of Hallsmere, when he barges into her bedroom at a local inn and begs her to hide him. The two meet again in Bath under extremely funny circumstances. This brash, adventurous young man is fleeing his aunt's matchmaking schemes and is much taken by the strongwilled Freyja. There is obvious chemistry between them. In a spontaneous moment the two decide to fake a betrothal - he to get away from his aunt's matrimonial plans, she to prove to the world that she need not remain a spinster. Obviously fate intervenes and the couple is unable to announce their break-up within the week as they originally planned.
This is the last book in the Bedwyn family trilogy. "Slightly Scandalous," as with the first book "Slightly Married," makes for a light and pleasant romantic read. The plot is not very original, although it is much more complex than the storyline in book one. I did like Josh as a hero. He appears quite cavalier at first, but then the depth of his character becomes obvious. I also enjoyed the scenes with their families at their different estates - Freyja's at Lindsey Hall and Josh's in Cornwall. The other characters are charming if predictable. Ms. Balogh writes in her usual warm, emotional style which enhances the somewhat over-used plot.
Rosalyn Landor was outstanding with the delivery of the story

A Humorous and Entertaining Book
If you could sum up Slightly Scandalous in three words, what would they be?
Funny, high-spirited, exciting!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Slightly Scandalous?
That's a tall order for a book chock-full of memorable moments. I'll start at the beginning when a man enters Freyja Bedwyn's room at an Inn on her journey to Bath wanting a place to hide. Encountering the same man in Bath she socks him in the nose for a supposed transgression.
Which character – as performed by Rosalyn Landor – was your favorite?
I liked both Freyja Bedwyn and Joshua Moore, Marquess of Hallmere, equally well. They played off each others personality for a humorous and enjoyable listen.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several moments in the book that evoked emotions; laughter, anger, etc.
Any additional comments?
The Bedwyn series have all been exceedingly entertaining but I think this book is my favorite.

Will they, won’t they?
I swear, if I had lived in the proper English society, I would have never married. But, enough about me.
Kind of a Cinderella story, ugly meets Prince Charming - then it takes a good many twists and turns. When you imagine how it will end, keeping interest in the middle parts is the key. Mary Balogh does it in spades.
Good listen, as always Rosalyn Landor properly knocks it out of the park.

Another Great Story and Narration
I am thoroughly enjoying this whole series. I had been looking forward to Freyja’s story and this did not disappoint. It was going to take someone special to entice her to marriage. She’s headstrong and aristocratic and not beautiful. She enjoys her freedom even if she’s lonely at times. She meets Josh in a completely unexpected way and let’s just say she doesn’t appreciate him. She, of course, has no idea he’s a marquis and very wealthy. He’s also handsome, charming and an all around good person. There’s many layers to this story, as in a lot that goes on and I found that it delivered all the “feels” a good romance should. It also has an unexpected villain that was simply horrible. As always, Rosalyn Landor, excelled at her narration and as always earned 5 stars from me. Highly recommend this to adult historical romance readers. This series is not to be missed!

Rosalyn Landor has a lovely, voice with a great range but manages to sound just too sweet. Where characters muse, she makes them sound pompous and pontificating. This book would be so much better with an edgier narrator.

One confrontational character and other laid back.
Again this is one of my favourite of the series, maybe because of the opposite it characters and how they come together. Freya had been brought up surrounded by strong minded males. To be recognised she had to compete as an equal, despite the restriction to women. The Hero is the opposite of everything she has been accustom to so provides a challenge. He recognised her fear of fail so manages to set the final challenge.
As usual the supporting characters hold their place in the story.

Enjoyable
I enjoyed this book 3 in the series. Some things I found a bit tedious, Josh calling Freya sweetheart all the time and the winking, it just made him seem a little creepy and it didn’t fit into that regency time frame. Little bit of everything, fun, drama, romance and the usual villainous character. I enjoyed the new characters in this book.
