Each tale is a magic trick, luring you toward the light while leading you down an ever-darkening path. There is hope mingled with horror, and that s Chizmar s secret power. Publisher's Summary
Being eaten by squirrels was not part of my plan. The apocalypse never came. Not in lightning and thunder and volcanic eruptions.
The zombie takeover didn’t happen in massive hordes within a few days or weeks as depicted on TV. It came insidiously, like a thief who has planned well for the burglary of a lifetime. They weren’t shuffling, shambling zombies with no brains.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
It all started one morning before work. Me getting my teen to do his part, my teen pretending to argue, you know, a normal day. A day like any other day, or so I thought...

And. this is another reason I won't go camping!! This is unique and different take on zombies, and I found it mesmerizing! Amidst death and destruction love grows! aaww! Grizzley action packed story. #1 lesson- check coworkers out carefully before trusting. #2 Don't eat 2 hours before reading this. The duet narration was great and added to the creep factor. Sebastian, Karla, Jack and Rachel are going to mountains for a nice camping vacation or so they thought. Whatever strange has been happening in town, has been also in the woods, dead animals, people with gray faces. Zombie attack! How did it start, is there a cure?
This book is action packed and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Theres descriptive scenes of zombies attacking, Its not for the squeamish.
The sex scenes between Karla and Sebastian are steamy, erotic, and sensual.
The narrators, Randi Johnson and Desiree Devine excellent in interpreting the story. voicing the characters and bringing it to life. I was gifted the audio version and offered my honest review.

Zombie apocalypse!
I asked to receive this free Audible review book and voluntarily wrote this unbiased review. I really am not that into zombies but I love listening to Randi Johnson. I did find this book very suspenseful and constantly wondering what horrible thing was going to happen next. I even had to get the tissues out on 2 separate occasions. The was a unique solution to this problem. Who would have guessed that there would be hot sensual love going on with zombies roaming around?! The narrators did a great job of bringing the characters to life and portraying their emotions. Randi can give the listener a deep sexy voice.

Scary
Not my usual genre, but because I am a fan of Mr. Johnson’s voice, I thought I give it a try. My first listen from Ms. Divine and she made a good presentation of the characters.
If you like zombie survival stories, this one is for you. An interesting concept and there are some thought provoking elements. Was this a military attack or a derailed experiment? Glad there is a HFN ending for Seb and his group. One thing that threw me off at times was the sudden jump from first person to third person POV. An enjoyable listen otherwise.

Zombies with romance thrown in
Ok, who would have thought it- zombies with romance and it kind of worked. Not your typical romance and I'm not a huge fan of zombies but it ended up being an interesting, exciting story.
Randi Johnson, as expected, was fantastic- he has such a great control of his voices and he plays his roles so well, with great timing and pacing. Desiree Divine was also a good counterpart to Randi and the narration added to the story.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters were interesting and the plot fast paced. Brilliant!!
Personally, I'm a big fan of the zombie genre, and have read and listened to most. I found Slow Fever to be cleverly-written, entertaining, exciting, the romance element is well executed and enjoyable. Despite the length, the storyline is well-paced with great scene transition. The characters are well-rounded, intriguing, and with depth to their personalities. Their connection and interaction, including the dialogue, are engaging; I was wholly immersed.
The dual narration by Randi Johnson and Desiree Divine is outstanding. They both hone on the characters' personalities, the animation, and suspense, bringing the story to life. I particularly enjoyed Desiree Divine's performance. I really hope there will be a follow-up book.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Slow Fever is the first book I have read/listened to by Leona Bushman. I love a great zombie book ever once in a while, and this book hit the spot. It was fast paced and action packed with some great feels added in. It had some steamy hot love scenes and some out right gory parts. I loved them all.
The narration was excellent. This was the first time listening to Desiree and I loved her voice. Randi is one of my go to narrators.

This story had my emotions all over the place from excitement, suspense, adventure, intrigue and worry for the characters! I loved watching the series walking dead at the beginning but lost interest in it as it went along. This storyline had me from the beginning and I would love to see it continue to another book.
The narrator’s Randi Johnson and Desiree Devine really makes the story come alive with their voices! I definitely enjoyed listening to this audiobook and would definitely recommend it!
