Publisher's Summary

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Smoke

My partner, my confidante, my friend, and my lover.

At least that's what she thinks.

After all, she's been through,

I'll keep up the charade.

It's the least I can do,

For the beautiful, feisty, smart woman,

Who stole my heart.

After the truth comes out, she leaves without a trace. But when she's in danger, I'll move mountains to get her back.

Siren

He lied. He played me. He broke me.

I refuse to stick around,

And be his fool.

He may be strong, rugged, and perfect,

But this SIREN waits for no man's call.

He may have lit my fire, but no amount of SMOKE can rekindle this smolder.

While each book in the Invincibles series is a standalone with its own HEA, they may be more enjoyable heard in order.

Captivating story about love and finding yourself

Smoke and Siren aren't technically in a relationship together. If anything, they passionately argue with each other all day long. Until, one day, Siren's memories are wiped by a tragic incident and she believes herself to be in a relationship with Smoke. Since she has no other family, Smoke steps up and takes her to his home, making sure she gets the best care and that she stays safe while she recovers.

J River Pierce portrays Smoke's inner conflicts and his toughness really well. How can Smoke reconcile what he knows about their past? And how will the future shape when Siren does regain her memories?

Stephanie Nemeth-Parker, one of my favorite narrators out there, did a kick-ass job with Siren. Be it the fun-to-listen-to Irish accent, her feisty confidence or the moments of vulnerability - I couldn't put it down even for a minute.
