Publisher's Summary

Moving to a new neighborhood sucks—unless of course you end up with fun roommates!!

An odd twist of fate made me the newest resident in Meteoropolis, a city hurtling through space on an ancient comet. After waking up in a containment pod, I got assigned to live with a unicorn gamer girl as my host. Not only did I need to find a job and a place to live, but I had to get used to bumping elbows with demons, dragons, aliens, and elves!

But somehow, that wasn't even the craziest part. When I arrived in this strange new world, I found out my soul had fused with a solar dragon. Suddenly, I had powers beyond anything even the magical residents of this city were capable of. Those powers also came with a secret that it would be hard to keep.

In the space of a few days I went from a school teacher to a fire-breathing, shapeshifting superhero! Now I just need to figure out how to contribute around the house and come to grips with the savage new tendencies the dragon soul brings out of me. It's going to be a hell of time!

Pretty cool Slice of Life

This was a pretty cool book. There is always enough going on to keep you interested and engaged as the MC learns his way around his new settings and abilities. Oh, as a superhero, his one-liners are totally cringe worthy. Alyssa poon to a good job narrating and giving the characters some extra depth. Pop this one in as you are doing your weekend chores, DIY projects or your daily workout and watch the time fly by.

Well worth your time and money

So, the opener of the book is a good indicator of the rest of the story in my opinion. Our hero awakes in a space capsule on a city built in a meteorite. He is welcome by a spliced elf who, during the introductory back and forth, calls him a “capsule puppy,” tells him that the proper greeting during an introduction is to grip each other’s forearms as not everybody has hands, but most do have appendages of some kind and says that the residents prefer the term Xenos. This is explained as ways of being far more inclusive than handshakes and the term alien. After all some of the residents appear to be from Greek and Atlantean mythology. Earth is now ruled by sentient bugs and our hero is millions of years removed from the time of his death. As the soul travels, sometimes they degrade which is why our hero has been spliced with a solar dragon. All of this information dropped within the first moments of the book, and I got to say that's how fast I got hooked. I could almost imagine a Starship Troopers propaganda promo saying, “do you want to know more” and the answer was yes. This is the second series that I'm checking out from this author. It is a solo narration audiobook. I have enjoyed the past performances of the lady narrator. This is the first time that I'm “seeing” her perform by yourself. I was curious as to how she would handle the male characters, but she nailed it in my opinion. Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us the audible listeners and I'm very interested in seeing where it progresses from here.

Batman

Descent story but I think the author has watched to much Batman. Also story was a little slow. Main character seems to be slow witted I mean he’s supposed to be a dragon.

Clueless protagonist trope

Why the author went with the clueless protagonist as if we are reading some japanese light novel I have no clue. That’s like the worst part about the whole genre. Why add that to the book is infuriating. Made the mc seem like a clueless idiot in my opinion. Actually I hated the asshat. He was just so stupid and cheese. I understand home being clumsy but what’s with the dumb lines “I am the night” really? If he aid it as a joke I would get it. But he was serious. He would have said something like im Batman or Dragonman. The cheese in those is at level 9\10.

Alyssa best work yet!!!

Oi what can I say Virgil did an excellent job with this book and he picked the perfect VA I’m glad to see Alyssa solo this, her previous partner was … well let’s say I think he was the worse VA in existence… yet anyway Alyssa Poon did a wonderful job and I hope that she continues this series.

Can’t wait to see what happens next book it’s not everyday I get kinda excited for a new series but I’m hopeful on this one!

Didn't want it to end.

I'm so glad I took a chance on this one. it's like finding a dollar on the ground only to realize it was a hundred dollars bill instead. Great book and fantastic narration.

Great work all around

Definitely a slice of life harem with a side of adventure. The characters are fun as all get out. The negative thing i have to say is that I wish book 2 was available. I could use a little more Blossom..lol

meh

Alyssa Poon needs a male co narrator she's good just doesn't quite have the range to solo a book like this. this book is more of a cheesy super hero story then slice of life.

Returning this because of the woke.

A delightful, tongue-in-cheek, isekai adventure

A very fun, comical, romantic story that hit so many of the right notes for me. Lots of cool references and hilarious moments, even a little heartbreaking twist that made me gasp and shake my fists at the heavens. Great stuff and the narrator absolutely nails all of it. Can't wait for more from both the author and voice actor.
