Publisher's Summary

Her high school crush is back, and he bought her vineyard!

Strike One.... In one night, Brooke Miller loses her boyfriend, her job, and possibly her reputation. She vows revenge on her old boss by bringing a defunct vineyard back to its former glory. But ex-baseball star Billy Turlock swoops in and buys her dream vineyard.

Strike Two.... Billy hopes the new family business will give him direction and purpose, now that he can no longer play baseball. He can't afford to fail again, and for that he needs Brooke, who has hated him and all athletes since high school...even if he's never forgotten her.

Wild pitch.... When it becomes clear the hot hunk is interested in more than a working relationship, Brooke wonders if their wild attraction could ever last.

What!!??

I limped my way through this one. I wanted to like it - no such luck. Brooke, the heroine, was a bundle of crazy inside a collection of prickliness all wrapped up in a big old package of WTH! She was irrational to the point of hysteria. I kept thinking - What did that poor sap, Billy, do to deserve the hell that is Brooke? Her neuroses (and there were several) were unfounded to the point of ridiculousness. She was terrified of the dark - why? **spoiler alert** Because the lights went out in her dorm and there were students yelling in the hallway and it sounded like they were having sex. REALLY? I lived in a dorm - that happened several times a month. Big deal! I wonder how this delicate flower could have survived true trauma like breaking a nail or wearing white after Labor Day. At the end I was cheering for Billy to dump her. Get out of the mental ward, Billy and move on!

Why?

The heroine is one of the most annoying leads of all time. I can’t believe how I hate an imaginary character. This is a skip

Really bad

The female character is a total mess and unlivable on any level. I couldn’t finish listening to this nonsense.

Couldn't even get through the book

Stopped listening as soon as he gave her complete control. This was my second book and in both the female characters were less than desirable, really, bitches that thought they had been wronged by guys who absolutely did no wrong. Then they guys end up apologizing. If roles would have been reversed no one would tolerate it. Just couldn't stomach it after she kept acting like she was wronged when he bought vineyard and he kept giving her everything. She had no right to demand 100 control and for him to give it to her was just stupid.

Unnecessary sex scenes

Too much sex when it didn’t need it to be a decent story. Would have been good except for that.

well told story

I enjoyed the storyline, I wish authors would write a book without quite so much detailed sex. I like to use my own imagination a little bit.

Ok

The overall story was nice but the female lead was a little annoying. How do you continue to hold something against someone that has nothing to do with them. She was always complaining too much for me I had to skip chapters to get through it.

Yes!!!

I love sweet stories that have everything good without the graphic garbage. I really had a hard time with the performer’s voice for the main character in the last book so I wasn’t sure how it would go but she was Great!!!
