Publisher's Summary

I had everything I ever wanted, living the dream, at least that's what I always thought. The night we met, we had an instant attraction, but she was with someone else. When we reunited a few months later, that pull was still there, stronger than ever. So strong that even though she was hundreds of miles away, I pursued her. I told myself that I just wanted to get to know her. Deep down I knew it was more.

I never understood the draw of living in the middle of nowhere. Born and raised a city girl, I never had the desire to leave. Who would have thought a weekend trip to the country would have me questioning myself? It was more than just the country; it's him. The way he looks at me, treats me, that smooth Southern drawl.

Am I willing to give up my legacy for her?

Am I willing to give up my dream for him?

Can two souls come together by the force of Southern Attraction?

Decent story but needs better editing

The story itself was ok promise but but the writing is juvenile. There is a lot of repetition. And the characters, at times, behave like teenagers rather than mature adults.

The biggest issue that I had was the fact that I kept getting distracted by the authors improper use of words. Clearly the author did not bother to use a dictionary before using some words and the editor did not catch them. One example: the heroine is lamenting to her friend about the fact that she and the Hero live so far from one another. Her friend responds “semantics”. What???? Semantics concerns the logical aspects of meanings in language. That word has nothing to do with location. She should have used a word like logistics. That is just one example; I found it happening over and over and ended up just being irritated rather than entertained.

The narration was decent. I was happy that the narrators did not over exaggerate the southern accent.

Magnetic Attraction

Here we are... Mike and Jaime! I feel like I waited for their story for so very long. These two had an instant connection. They tried to fight it. They tried to make long distance work. But when you love someone with all of you being so far away and only seeing each other on some weekends is not enough. This story was fantastic! Plus i love meeting up with the previous couples in every book.

The narration between Amy Johnson and Joe Arden was perfect! I fell so quickly for them. They add in so much heart and emotion.

Great audiobook!

Wow! Joe Arden and Amy Johnson did a great job on capturing the sentiment and emotion in this story and Kaylee Ryan told another magnificent story. This was well worth the wait!

Sweet

I liked the book, liked the sweet guy and I would like to listen to the other books in the series since this was my first one, however I do agree with other reviews that the book is very repetitive, as in the characters say the exact same thing several times and not necessarily to different people, or in one occasion Jamie thought something and then said it and in the audiobook it just sounded like she said it twice, as was unnecessary.

Regarding the narration I liked both, although sometimes Joe didn't do, in my opinion, a southern accent altogether and Amy on the other hand gave an accent to everyone, like Jamie even though she is from Chicago, but I imagine it must be hard changing from one accent to the next in the same conversation.

Nice, low drama, light listen.

Anything narrated by Joe Arden is always worth the money or credit, in my opinion. I got this book during an audible sale so I had not listened to any others in the series yet. Joe brings every emotion to the book and it's flawless, he is a master of audio. Amy Johnson was new to me, as was the author, Kaylee Ryan. Amy did a great job as well, and I would've given a 5 star performance, but her male voice isn't as easy to listen to. If it were duet style narration, it would've gotten 5 stars for sure. The story was really great- nothing too dramatic happened, so the book was a pretty light listen. I will be indulging in the rest of the books from the series.

A True Southern Gentleman!

If you like contemporary romance about adults with realistic jobs, real life experiences, and who value family and friends, that are written with both sweet and steamy scenes, you’ll love this series! This series features men who don’t cheat, lie, or play the field extensively. Each ends with a very satisfying HEA…and an epilogue that brings the story full circle.

Southern Attraction is the 3rd book in Kaylee Ryan’s Sweet Southern series…I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each book! In Southern Attraction, Kentucky bar owner, Mike, meets Jamie, a paralegal from Chicago, when both attended a party of a mutual friend. Although separated by distance, their attraction to each other is evident early in the book. From the first time they meet, their attraction to each other was obvious…and their journey to a HEA grew over time. The characters were well-developed and KR did a great job expressing the struggle over priorities both main characters experienced.

This book was very relatable, the characters were likable, and the details written by KR really brought this story to life for me. Performances by Joe Arden and Amy Johnson were ideal…I was totally lost in the story! I highly recommend Southern Attraction!

Right in the feels

This story hit me so hard. I cried so much during this story. It was a wonderful story so don’t go thinking that it was a horribly sad story or anything like that. The story just resonated with my real life story sooo much. I’m from TN. My fiancé was from NY. We struggled with our own long distance relationship for 7.5 years. There were just an unending number of reasons that just kept us from being in the same city. I’ve got children here. He had a sick mother there. His job was there and he was making a lot more as an estate attorney in NYC than he ever could in NE TN. Just never ending. Then, I kissed him one Sunday morning and put him on a plane back to NYC. Talked to him until late that night and he never woke up the next day. We never had our chance to get our happy ever after. I truly loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. Even if I was sobbing uncontrollably and used an entire box of tissues 🥲🥲
