Humanity has left Earth behind and is rapidly expanding throughout the galaxy under the banner of The Union, a white supremacist government who racially ‘purified’ the human race hundreds of years in the past. Freeman is a genius with an uncommon mixture of memory, intelligence, and creativity. He lives in a worldwide utopia, but it was not always so. There was a time known as the Grind - when Freeman's people lived as slaves to another race referred to simply as "Master". They were property. But a civil rights movement emerged. Change seemed near, but the Masters refused to bend. Instead, they declared war. And lost. Now, the freed world is threatened by a virus, spread through bites, sweeping through the population. Those infected change - they are propelled to violence, driven to disperse the virus.

We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Hi, how are you? Yes, I am talking to you, the reader of this book's description. Okay, I get it, fourth-wall breaking is overdone. Get over it. This book, Villains Rule, is a fantasy action-comedy which you have to hear. Not because it redefines the genre, far from it. But rather for what it contains. A villain's tale. How often do you get to listen to a story where the villain is the protagonist? No, not an anti-hero, or a brooding monster, nor a hero thinly disguised as a villain. And not evil. If you want evil, take that nonsense to therapy.

Publisher's Summary
Discover Space Force, the number one Audible best-selling novel by New York Times best seller Jeremy Robinson, and ask yourself, "Who thought this was a good idea?"
Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables: men and women who made too many mistakes, didn't follow the rules, or...slept with the wrong general's daughter. Three times. On camera. It was a mistake, okay?
My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". While the powers-that-be attempted to make Space Force an embarrassment, they also sent some of the very best minds, fighters, and pilots to the program, because sometimes the best of us decide to take a stand against those same powers. Yeah, yeah. Not me. Though I seem to recall I was standing when...sorry. It's a distracting memory.
Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. But before all of us can leave, aliens invade. Really ugly ones, too. Super nasty. I don't think I could describe them here without getting the audiobook banned.
Anywho, using their advanced technology, they seal off Space Force Command behind a shrinking force field and kick off a battle royale to the death. Human vs. alien. To the victors goes the Earth. While my boy Frank Taylor and I throw down inside the force field, my main squeeze, First Lieutenant Jennifer Hale, leads an international strike team into freakin' space. It's nuts. Crazy action. Super funny, too, in like a Deadpool way, if that's your thing.
The only way to really know what went down is to snag a copy of this audiobook and listen to it for yourself...before it's too late. Or wait for the movie. There is going to be a movie, right?

Low brow and hillarious
This is SciFi meets Sharknado.
Plenty of laughs if you don't take it seriously at all. I needed a lighthearted listen, and this book delivered the goods.
If this one time at band camp means anything to you give it a try. If you are too stuck up to chuckle at genital humor then pass on it.
This book doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should you. That said it is short and entertaining.

disappointed
Usually id say that a Jeremy Robinson book is a guaranteed good read. But this book is just annoying! Quick aliens are invading! earth is doomed! so lets stand around and tell penis and poo poo jokes. Star Force spends more time telling crude jokes and letting his readers know what his real life political veiws are then he does anything else. i dont mind jokes but this is what id call stupid humour, with very little actual alien invasion! if you want a great Jeremy Robinson book get Mirrorworld, one of the best books ive read. Mr. Robinson you are better then this crap!

Space Forced
I thought I had a guilty pleasure of low brow humor on par with a 12 year old boy. Turns out, my limits don't go as far as I thought. What started as shocking and amusing quickly loses its shock value and becomes repetitive and trying too hard. The cultural references are usually nonsensical and “for the sake of” rather than added to the imagery. Using some cultural references can be fun. Turning every second sentence into one feels incredibly forced.

I'm not a Gamer, but . . .
No, you don't need to be a Gamer to really enjoy this story. . . . But if you ARE a Gamer (and I do know a few who I have made a point of turning on to this story!) then I'm sure that you REALLY will enjoy this book! Plenty of laughs, action, barbs, and a mixed bunch of rejects made this one FUN alien invasion unlike any other I have ever encountered.
Some of the language and descriptives might not make this everyone's "cup of tea", but I blame that on Stone. (The guy has issues.) Don't blame Robinson. He's just the poor writer who got dragged into all of this.
Kafer, Zeller and Williams brought the whole story to life with their renditions of all of the characters. GREAT JOB GUYS!
I REALLY HOPE Jeremy will be giving us more adventures of SPACE FORCE!

I'm not entirely sure what I just listened to...
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Space Force is the story about Americas newest fighting division. Everything they know, all their training is meaninglessness when aliens show up.
It is probably one of the oddest written story's I've read/listened to. It is very meta, and self aware. The main characters, and even secondary characters talk about the writing style and events as they relate to the plot.
It is sarcastic comedy, light on sci-fi and light on action. Most of the story resolves around relationships and personal interactions, with only an occasional action sequence.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, even though it is very oddly written. The voice acting was well done and the voices fit the characters.
I recommend this book if you like humorous sci-fi, but stay away if you're looking for serious action or hard core sci-fi.

Game of Planets
After the next administration decides to dismantle the US Space Force an alien invasion sets up a Fortnite like Deathmatch for the rights to the planet. Stone and Hale' (not Holly) are separated by a death field and must partner up with some unusual allies to defeat the space....well, you'll see. Funny story, great characters, many shots at all kinds of politicians, bosses, and body shaming. The narrators had a great time with this one and it showed. Ridiculously Funny!
This story is all about laughs, action, irony, and more laughs! Imagine the world is being attacked by gamers from another planet, who look like male genitalia, and behave like Minions. There is no way that won’t be funny to anyone who maintains a shred of youth. However, if you somehow lost touch with your teen self, have a stick unfortunately implanted, or were born without a funny bone, stick to listening to James Joyce or the Bronte sisters.
Jeffrey Kafer delivers another solid performance, as we have come to expect. The real news is the performance of Emily Woo Zeller! She did an outstanding job, and really stole the show with her character voices and humorous delivery. The surprise appearance of Jeremy Robinson was a great touch too.

I really tried to like it
The description made it seem like it would be a fun, hilarious action sci-fi, but in reality it's just juvenile humor with poor story telling. half of the book is filler and the other half is horribly forced pop culture references. The alien invaders speak using gaming lingo and the entire battle plan is based off battle royale games. Which would be fine if it was done cleverly. What infuriates me most is that I know Jeremy Robinson is a good writer because I really enjoyed Infinite. If you aren't a fan of poorly used crude jokes, bad story telling, and a stupid amount of poop and penis jokes (Seriously it's the entire book, non-stop), then this book is not for you.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW
I have never written a review for an Audible book. I have dozens and dozens (like a real lot) of Audible books. Never have I been moved to write a review, good or bad. I am sitting in my truck, in a Casey’s gas station parking lot, eating lunch as I finished the last 10 minutes of Space Force.
This book had me laughing out loud, for 9 plus hours. I’m not a gamer, but I’m 45 years old and the pop culture references were hilarious. The last ten minutes of the book was amazing.
Buy this book. Not for a serious, thought-provoking story line, well-developed characters or any of the myriad reasons we usually choose titles. Buy it for its sheer genius.

Laugh out loud fun!!!
This book was so much fun to read!! I haven't laughed as much at a book in a long time.
The plot was simple enough but with an added twist. 5 years ago, the then President of the United States created a Space Force, it was supposed to be a serious branch of the military, but everyone eventually poked fun at it and in the end, it was filled with the "undesirables". As the blurb says.."As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables: men and women who made too many mistakes, didn't follow the rules, or...slept with the wrong general's daughter. Three times. On camera. It was a mistake, okay?". But just when Space Force is being disbanded, Aliens attack, but they attack like it's a video game and it's the battle royal to the death, the victors get the earth. Can the band of misfits save them all?
I really don't want to go into the plot too much because it's such a fun experience reading it with no forewarning! All I'll say is go into this with no expectations at all and you will love it. It's a tongue in cheek book and one that the author had fun with!! Filled with witty banter, great characters, wierd a&& aliens and loads and loads of fun!! I will say that it is silly at times...picture teenage humour, but that's what made me love it all the more. It was a breathe of fresh air to read such an entertaining, funny, laugh out loud book, in a time when politics is so messed up. The author pokes fun at a lot of things and It. Was. Awesome!
In all, I loved this. I loved the characters, the immature humour (cause honestly, life is too serious at times, it's nice to let go!!) and I even loved the aliens, they are definitely the most interesting looking ones I've ever read about!! Be warned though, it is gory, it is bloody (and other bodily fluidy) and it's got lots bad language, but it's a easy, fun and entertaining read and one I know I'll read again.
Jeffrey Kafer, Emily Woo Zeller and Machelle Williams did an amazing job narrating this. You can tell they had fun and enjoyed doing it!! They made me enjoy it all the more because they were able to bring the characters to life and make me laugh more. I couldn't picture anyone other than Jeffrey Kafer doing Stone because he brought across his dry humour so well. Brilliant performance!!
I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Too much toilet humour...
I really wanted to like this, it sounded hilarious, but I found the humour too crass. I love sci-fi and witty banter is my fav, but this was more a silly spoof with predominately toilet-type humour.
Storyline was fine with funny banter occasionally, just wish there had been more substance.
Narration was good.
This wasn’t for me, but definitely buy if silly comedies are your thing!

Super funny!
I found this book really funny, I wouldn’t say it’s super serious, but a fantastic listen. The narrators did a great job of bringing the book to life.

Maybe funny for gamers
Not really what I had hoped for. Maybe funny for gamers but I could not find anything funny about the story or the characters.

I do understand the high ratings
I do really get it! It is in the same way the obese person will probably rate sweets and chips very high, the junkie would give a 5 + Star rating to his crack at least during the time he is high and the not too bright, mature or unfocused can also highly rate this "science-fiction" wannabe filled with videogame action and immaturity.
Per my point of view it does feel like a 12 year old was allowed to give input about things that would be "really funny" and these were then tied in with a very loose story that is thinner than the plot of a Michael Bay movie. I was almost waiting to hear "insert lens flare here" but no such luck.
To summarize, Transformers meets Independence Day interpreted by a 12 year old who has a very phallic imagination.
If that sort of "science fiction" is your thing go for it you will have a lot of fun with the one liners and mindlessness after all Micheal Bay movies do sell well enough so there must be a market.

Tries To Hard To Be Funny And Edgy
Not a great plot by any means and lots of crude dialogue to get cheap laughs.

Fast-paced and funny
If you like sci-fi with a bunch of action and a generous squeeze of self-deprecating humour then this is a book for you.
Robinson’s writing is clean and smart without getting entangled in heady philosophy or intensive detail. All the narrators deliver smooth and engaging performances to support the story. Thank you for the entertainment!

Hysterical and original, Grandma won't approve
Brilliantly written and majestically dramatised, a must for anyone with a slightly twisted side... I am fairly new to Jeremy Robinson's work, and I'm already hooked.
