Publisher's Summary

Three thrilling stories of the law from the master of the legal thriller.

Homecoming takes us back to Ford County, the fictional setting of many of John Grisham's unforgettable stories. Jake Brigance is back, but he's not in the courtroom. He's called upon to help an old friend, Mack Stafford, a former lawyer in Clanton who three years earlier became a local legend when he stole some money from his clients, divorced his wife, filed for bankruptcy, and left his family in the middle of the night, never to be heard from again. Until now. Now Mack is back and he's leaning on his old pals, Jake and Harry Rex, to help him return. His homecoming does not go as planned.

In Strawberry Moon, we meet Cody Wallace, a young death row inmate only three hours away from execution. His lawyers can't save him, the courts slam the door, and the Governor says no to a last minute request for clemency. As the clock ticks down, Cody has only one final request.

The Sparring Partners are the Malloy brothers, Kirk and Rusty, two successful young lawyers who inherited a once prosperous firm when its founder, their father, was sent to prison. Kirk and Rusty loathe one another, and speak to each other only when necessary. As the firm disintegrates, the fiasco falls into the lap of Diantha Bradshaw, the only person the partners trust. Can she save the Malloys, or does she take a stand for the first time and try to save herself?

350+ million copies, 45 languages, 9 blockbuster films.

Disappointing

I was really looking forward to this book but was bitterly disappointed as it just gives the impression that they were just unfinished storylines

0 stars

I had this on pre order when the blurb didn’t say it was short stories rather it was book 4 in a series. Starting the book, the author tells us it’s three short stories so I’m returning it without listening, I find short stories pointless and do not wish to waste a credit. Audible and authors, try not to mislead customers please.

Over Promises

This is well below Grisham's normal books. For a start the first story isn't about Jake Brigance he is just a peripheral character. The story itself meanders, goes nowhere and then finishes. Most unlike Grisham

Left wanting more, felt a bit cheated

I usually love John Grisham stories, but these just didn’t work for me. The endings were weak and each one felt rushed.

Very dissapointing

First story had me gripped, very good story but then ended abruptly with nothing.
Second story same.
I haven't started third one as a result.

three middling stories.

of the three, the title tale is best, with the others not really going anywhere. seems grisham has lost his mojo these days

No conclusions

All 3 short stories were inconclusive and not related. Left feeling all were pointless and needed purpose

Not his best, but still good

Grisham explained that this collection are neither foul books or short stories . But worth a listen.
