Publisher's Summary

There is nothing like the charm of a speaker. Throughout the history of mankind, leaders have resorted to the power of oratory to bring light into the world. If it were not for the speeches made by Socrates, Caesar, Napoleon, JFK, or Tony Robbins, the world would have been a much different place.

Speaking well in public can open many doors for us. From a professional point of view, it can help to increase the possibilities in a job interview, get more credibility and attention in work meetings, obtain better results in an examination, attract clients for a company or project, gain the confidence of your team, and leadership. On a personal level, it also has great advantages, such as feeling more integrated with social groups or in the family environment, getting your opinions to be taken more into account, to be perceived as a more interesting and self-confident person, and asking people out. This book unveils secrets to the art of public speaking. It helps you to be yourself before an audience or a group of people, managing your anxiety to the point of being able to lower it to a minimum, showing naturalness in our non-verbal communication, being able to express your ideas, obtain a great social reinforcement, and self-esteem that is greatly reinforced. If you are looking to alleviate that fear of speaking in front of others, you can learn to improve your communication with the public and change your life.

Learn the techniques of powerful people who can win people’s hearts and achieve their goal by speech. And how much world’s highest rank speakers make money: $35,000-250,000 a speech! Winston Churchill, Barack Obama, Brian Tracy, Oprah Winfrey, Grant Cardone, Les Brown, Eric Thomas, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, and many more. Learn their secrets. Learn why people listen to them. Learn why they matter and how you can make your speeches impactful using their secrets.

Disappointing

The book "reads" like the author is dictating intoa notebook rather than taking the time to construct his advice or tips into a full manuscript.

Good content, bad organization

Overall the material presented in the book was very good. But while there were chapters, there did not seem to be any rational to the structure of the book. It seemed like the author took several essays or presentations on speaking and just copied and pasted them into the book. I say that because almost all of the chapters have presented similar information on the same way.

If this book would have been an hour, then it might have been very good. But since it was 5, there was a lot of repetition and the chapters did not build off of one another.

The narration was mediocre. There were a couple instances where sentences or words were repeated. And the sound level was inconsistent.

Overall the book had really good content. But very poor organization and a mediocre performance. If you want a bullet point presentation of tips to be a better speaker the. This is a great book. If you want a book that is more of a lesson where the chapters build on each other, then maybe look elsewhere.

I received a copy of this book in return for an unbiased review.

Perfect beginning!

As someone who speaks and coaches others to speak, Confessions was an especially enjoyable read, affirming some of my anxieties, causing multiple laugh breaks, and conveying some fantastic new tips along the way.

Must listen for everyone

I’m not an actor or museum educator, and I don’t have a “boss” at my job… but I am a person, so being able to speak confidently on the fly is important to me!

Awesome Book-Don't Miss it!

What an awesome book!!! It should be a must-listen for every High-school graduating person. In addition, I believe every businessman can benefit from it. Although I have listened to it twice, I want to listen again.

Exactly As Advertised!

Definitely some great tips to becoming a better speaker and a great angle from which to attack the problem. Full disclosure is that I know the author and he is a great guy. Very impressed with his book and the research he has clearly done to get it out there.

Interesting!

It was perfectly focused on public speaking. I enjoyed this one because it is broadly applicable to all communication. I used to stutter constantly and struggle with clearly communicating my ideas. This was really helpful because it gave me clear structures.

Spellbound!

I am a retired professional who has rediscovered the joy of nonprofessional learning. My listening to Speak Like a Pro is one of those joys. I just wanted to look behind the stage of this incredible learning platform. This book gave me that guided tour, it gave me hints on becoming a more effective speaker, it gave me clues on becoming a more effective listener but most of all, it was just plain fun to listen to. In fact, I think I will listen to it again.

Excellent listen for any Presenter

To me, listening to R. Breton's book has value-added from the get-go because of the passion, the interest. and the enthusiasm that is brought by the speakers.

Solid Information about Speaking as a Profession.

Most books on speaking talk about how to present better. Few offer you the insight into the BUSINESS of speaking. Read this if you are good in front of an audience and have ever wondered if you could be paid to do it full-time. Also, good for experienced speakers, trainers, and consultants who want to pursue additional revenue streams and upgrade their efforts. Highly recommend it if you are interested in speaking professionally!
