Whew

Easily one of the worst if not the worst narrations I’ve listened to all year. Idk if this was her first book to narrate because I’ve heard good narrating from her before... but this was so bad and really hard to finish. The story was amateurish writing and I only finished it because I used my credit...time and money wasted...definitely a tough finish.

Not my best read

The story was ok but I couldn't really get into it. The narrator had these street dudes sounding very soft. The tone didn't really match the story line.

I don't know where to begin

Let's start with the narrator; OMG this is not the profession for her, NOT AT ALL. The Story was just so drawn out for no reason, then I kept waiting to get to the point, but it was just like poorly written essay.....

It just ran on!

HORRIBLE!!!

I feel like I fell into some lost episodes of Degrassi High. I could not get with the excessive whining, the drawn out story lines, the high school antics, absent parents due to different circumstances, yea yea...and narration was awful! She was reading way too fast and most of the time I could not tell when she switched from one character to the next. The author did try to throw in some "hood antics" along with the after school special but it didn't mes and the story seemed all over the place. That so called revenge plot that went to the left...WHAT!!!!! I'm not sure if this was the author's first novel but this is NOT IT!

Awesome

I loved it! It was mostly about real urban lifestyle. Very relatable. Will be reading this again!

I’m glad it was free.

All through this book I just kept saying “This girl is in high school. 10th grade”. The story was ridiculous because of the age of the protagonist. However the worst part of this was the reader. Mispronouncing so many words. Skipping words. Deadpan. One note, emotionless reading. I’m noticing a trend in the books with black authors. The readers are shamefully bad. It’s almost like they were poor readers in the 1st place, got no practice and one timed attempt to read these books and no one is on quality control. Sex scenes, weddings, and massacres all sound the same. Even books by EJ Dickey were given the same treatment and he is an established, accomplished author. Audible took a giant dump on those books too. This makes me want to cancel my subscription and spend the money in a bookstore. I hate it here

Too long

Liked how Woo got his, but too much noise getting to that point. Plus crazy how author let her fall in love with brothers killer.

The book was ok, not really good just “OK”

The book was ok, it was a lot going on with the book. I think the problem is with the writer. It was a lot of he say she say. I really didn’t care a lot for that.
