For Sam Lovell, organising the summer festival in her hometown is one of the highlights of her year. It’s not always smooth sailing, but she loves to see Porthmellow’s harbour packed with happy visitors and being on the committee has provided a much-needed distraction from the drama in her family life (and the distinct lack of it in her love life). When their star guest pulls out with only a few weeks to go, everyone’s delighted when a London chef who grew up locally steps in at the last minute.

Publisher's Summary
Beth Reynolds loved growing up close to Eleanor's Emporium – a bric-a-brac shop full of wonders on Lavender Bay. Devastated to learn that Eleanor has died, she returns home from London immediately and is shocked to discover that the elderly lady has left the shop to her!
Vowing to restore it to its former glory, she only intends to stay until the end of the season. Although the longer she spends in the colourful seaside town, the more she falls back in love with everything she left behind... and quite possibly, with her best friend Eliza's older brother, local chef Sam Barnes!
Why didn't she notice he was quite this gorgeous before? And will their spring fling be enough to convince her to stay?
Don't miss Spring at Lavender Bay, the first book in the enchanting Lavender Bay trilogy! Perfect for fans of Trisha Ashley, Rachael Lucas and Hilary Boyd.

Just very basic and shallow
I didn’t hate it I guess, it’s easy to listen to. It just doesn’t really have any charm or anything interesting about it. The characters were very 2D feeling. The girls love wine and watching Netflix then there’s the strong, French speaking, chef love interest, just dull... Also the narrator was a bit wooden

Sweet but predictable
I found this a sweet story but no interesting surprises very predictable.
The narrator didn’t seem to be consistent with her accents of different characters.
Sam the lead was British one minute then Northen the next and his sister Eliza who was obviously not pure British had a very posh accent compared to the parents.
Bit annoying and wouid be interested to see where they all end up
