Publisher's Summary

Over 1600 years ago, God raised up a man named Patrick to take the Gospel of Christ to the people of Ireland. Seldom in church history has any missionary been blessed with a more fruitful ministry. The preaching of Patrick was used by God to transform many of the Irish people from idol-worshiping pagans into servants of the one true God of Scripture.

This biography seeks to vividly portray the true story of Saint Patrick and to encourage 21st-century Christians to be faithful to the great commission of Christ to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

Very Interesting Story - but - Anti Catholic tone

Well written and an easy listen. Grat Storytoo! To have a book about St. Patrick with such an anti-Catholic undertone was disheartening. Not a big fan of the questions and vocab words at the end either.

Disappointed by the protestant view.

A great saint and a very interesting story. However, I was disappointed by the apology the book makes of Martin Luther ideas, while narrating the life of a catholic bishop.

Facinating Story

I greatly enjoyed listening to the story of Patrick's life. The man is so much better than the myths about him. If you are interested in real faith, you should find it very worthwhile to listen to the story of this saint.

historically incorrect

I was hoping to share this with my students as it is written for young readers. The beginning of the book follows the main story line of St. Patrick, until he goes to Canterbury (!) for missionary training. Of course the problem with that is St. Augustine wasn't sent by Pope St Gregory until the 7th century, while St Patrick was sent to Ireland by Pope St. Celestine in the 4th century! The author seems to have taken pains to make St. Patrick into a Protestant missionary.
The reader has a good voice but he is so careful to enunciate that it's rather jerky and a bit annoying.

Inspiration for the lost children of Christ

Really teaches the way to god by fully trusting him in our everyday life and understanding when he calls on us no matter what we must listen and follow him.

reads like a textbook

I love the informative nature of this book, however I don't really care for the questions at the end of each chapter. It would be an excellent teaching book but not such a great listen because of this

Historical Novel

I liked the story telling in this style. This is a book I will listen to every year or two for the inspiration of Patrick life and influence.

Excellent introduction to St. Patrick

I knew very little of this Saint, and admittedly this story is for early readers but I enjoyed the story as it told of his life and did not delve deep into theology, but rather comprised of this conversion, faith and steadfast love of the Lord.

Surprisingly Interesting

What started out to me as a history book, ended up being an inspiring life testimony of a true hero of the faith. suitable for those from 10 yrs.
