Publisher's Summary

Star Kingdom Omnibus II contains books 4 & 5 of the Star Kingdom series.

Crossfire, book 4:

For the first time in his life, roboticist Casmir Dabrowski is headed to another star system as an advisor for the Kingdom space fleet. He’s being given a chance to prove himself to King Jager by helping find the ancient artifact he inadvertently lost. It’s best not to think about what might happen if he fails....

But with technologically advanced astroshamans after the artifact, not to mention the deadly mercenary captain Tenebris Rache, it’s not long before the mission collides with disaster.

Soon, Casmir and his friends are caught between warring factions, and he must choose between what the king would want and what he knows is right.

Gate Quest, book 5:

Roboticist extraordinaire Casmir Dabrowski has a new nemesis: astroshaman leader Kyla Moonrazor.

She’s stolen the ancient wormhole gate the king ordered Casmir to retrieve, and she’s entrenched in an underwater base on a forsaken moon. Moonrazor is more educated and more experienced than Casmir, and she has legions of killer robots and cyborg defenders on her side. Casmir has his friends and...a submarine named the Waddler

As if his task wasn’t daunting enough, his old competitor, mercenary Captain Tenebris Rache, is on the same quest, and he’ll do anything to keep the Kingdom from getting that gate.

If Casmir can’t find a way to defeat them, the king will never let him return to his home, his family, and the career he loves.

Humor is important.

This series is interesting as it is laced with humor. It is just short of cartoonish but delightfully short. It includes the serious themes and action common to the space opera theme but the characters have depth in addition to flaws or foibles. The story lines are both predictable with some telegraphing but also with humorous turns that are sometimes over used. It is interesting to have the focus on the individual in the story and not the technology, action, or complicated political intrigue. It has all that but as an assist in moving the story along. It is nice to have several books in the omnibus options since it allows enough time to come to an interest in the characters. This second omnibus selection moved the plot along. It may not be great literature but it is a thoroughly enjoyable read.

fun writer

I started reading the Fallen Kingdom series and because I enjoyed it so much, I started reading the Star Kingdom series. I like the characters in this series much more and I really love Fallen Kingdome so that's saying something.

I like the humor and character development and keep visualizing this series made into a TV show. I started to listen to other books by Buroker but it appears they are more romance. This series has romance but it's definitely in the back seat. The main character is a geek which I think most fans of sci-fi can appreciate and relate to.

The narrator was the perfect fit and was able to give all the characters a distinct voice. He also did woman's voices very well. No falsetto or whining voice for females.

I've heard that other books of Buroker's are mainly romances with sci-fi and fantasy taking a back seat which doesn't align with my tastes. Kind of a bummer as I prefer any romance to be incidental to the story and NOT the main event.

I'd definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a good space operal

This series is addictive!

Fred Berman is an amazing narrator. Each character's voice is totally distinct from the other. The series has been my constant companion for the past 6 months. I am looking forward to the next volume!

Great Space Opera

Well written and wonderfully performed.

This is a great space opera. Nerdy heroes, pirates, knights, robots, quirky AIs, cyborgs, and androids. Lots of action, but with a lead character who thinks and worries about the moral consequences of his actions.

The narrator adds a lot to this audio book. His characters each have unique and easily identifiable voices.

All in all, a really fun listen.

Love

I really enjoyed this series. it's a fun little space romp that doesn't get too lost in the technical details. the narrator took a little bit of getting used to but once I got used to him I realized he was reading the characters just as they're meant to be.

Thank you!!!!

I had so much fun listening to this series. After reading the Bob verse series, I’ve found it hard to find another series that I’ve enjoyed nearly as well. This is the closest I’ve gotten to yet! It was well written, the characters were great, contained a great plot, and had the perfect amount of snark to make it entertaining yet still exciting. I highly recommend it.

Wow that flew by

If you've made it to the second omnibus I'm not going to try and give you the hard sell. The gang is hunting down the gate and the usual mayhem ensues. Story is great, performance is great. I'm going to be sad when it's over and I don't have more adventures with these fine characters.

Awesome series

This series is definitely worthy of multiple reads. Well written and a generic story. The Audible version is great. Action, humor, well rounded story line.

A space saga to rival the titans

This certainly doesn't disappoint and continues the story in an engrossing way captivating the listener and developing the characters further.
Often chaotic but never disappointing I can not wait for the next one.
