Publisher's Summary
Civil war looms as the fledgling Galactic Alliance confronts a growing number of rebellious worlds - and the approaching war is tearing the Skywalker and Solo families apart. Han and Leia return to Han's homeworld, Corellia, the heart of the resistance. Their children, Jacen and Jaina, are soldiers in the Galactic Alliance's campaign to crush the insurgents.
Jacen, now a complete master of the Force, has his own plans to bring order to the galaxy. Guided by his Sith mentor, Lumiya, and with Luke's young son Ben at his side, Jacen embarks on the same path that his grandfather Darth Vader once did. And while Han and Leia watch their only son become a stranger, a secret assassin entangles the couple with a dreaded name from Han's past: Boba Fett. In the new galactic order, friends and enemies are no longer what they seem.

Very well done! A great series continues!
Very well done for a Star Wars audiobook. Even though it is abridged, the 6 hour run-time leaves enough material to make this audiobook entertaining. That said, you can still notice gaps where, I assume, material was cut out for the abridgement. This can be annoying after a while. I won't beat around the bush, I loathe any abridgement and I would encourage people to complain to the publisher so that they will begin releasing unabridged versions of these books. Other than that, this book was excellent. Marc Thompson is one of the most talented narrators that I have heard. It is a pleasure to listen to him. The different character voices that he assumes throughout the book are executed flawlessly and I had to keep reminding myself that it was the same person speaking. The writing, sound production, and music were all top notch. I would give this 5 stars if not for the abridgement.
One last thing, stay away from any of the star wars audiobooks that are less than 6 hours in length. They are so butchered by the abridgements, that they are not worth your time or money. Quite a few of these are narrated by Anthony Heald and he is just plain awful. I found this out the hard way. Just remember, Anthony Heald = extremely poor narration. Jonathan Davis = Extremely good narration. Marc Thompson = Outstanding narration.

No more abridgement!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Great story and the narrator Marc Tompson is fantastic. These abridged versions however are a huge disappointment. I will finish the rest of this story but will no longer give up my credits or purchase any more of these abridged versions ever again. It sucks that the producers and random house audio have created so many abridged books.. They are a huge let down. I feel some what ripped off. I have some titles that are 40+ hours of content and cost 1 credit. These are barely 6 hrs and are so chopped up as to take more away they give.

Too Short
I hate these abridged versions of this series. Please release the unabridged versions. Things just seem to randomly happen. Characters just appear places they shouldn't be based on the story that's being performed. If we had the missing parts we'd have been understanding of everything that's going on.

Better than the first.
This is the 2nd in a series of nine books: Legacy of the Force. I can tell you it is much better than the first, since there is more personal actions involving the feud growing between the Bobba Fett clan, the Solo clan with Jaycen being the growing nemesis, and Luke growing concern of the dark side consuming his nephew, Jaycen. Also, there is an interesting chapter with Han and Bobba Fett, that reveals a great deal of the characters of both men, and the surprising interaction between them in what happens to Thrackan Sal Solo.
Overall, I would give this book 4 1/2 stars compared with 4 1/4 stars for the first book, primarily because of the interactions between the families, and how Ben Skywalker is now being forced into a corner between choosing his dad and mom, over his friendship and learning under Jaycen Solo.
I read the book in paperback, but still enjoyed the abridged version, since it cut out a lot of wasted time in listening and saved money (credit) on the longer version of the book being taped. But it would not hurt to have all the book, still the book was very, very enjoyable. I am now listening to the 3rd in the series..!!

A Great Listen
This was my first listen from audible. I had already read book 1 of the Legacy of the Force series and decided to break in my Audible subscription with book 2 and did not regret it one bit. The audion effects enhance the overall experience rather than distract from the story. The narrator does an amazing job of keeping things going nicely. My only complaint is that this is abridged. I'd much rather have an unabridged version of these books.

No More Abridged Books !
I've been a huge Star Wars fan since I was kid and saw the original movie for a friend's birthday party on May 29, 1977, but I don't think I'll be buying any more SW books...
A) The abridged versions are terrible. A big part of the SW universe is the description, most of which is cut out in the abridgement.
2) The current and future books are all in nine-or-ten part series. It seems like the authors and publishers are just stringing the readers along... A single story from beginning to end costs well over $100.

this series is heavily abridged. it feels rushed and incomplete. there is not enough character development to justify jacen’s descent into darkness. that said, i’ll listen to any star wars content narrated by marc and if you can fill in the blanks it’s a good listen.

Horribly cut up.
There are entire chapters missing as well as sections of dialogue and events that are crucial/simicrucial to the plot of the books as a whole and even cut plot points all together. An example is when the Falcon almost crashes, you get Han and Leia leaving Corellia then next you hear about them they are on Coresant after almost crashing with Jacen and Jaina rushing to see thier parents after they almost died. Nothing about when/how this happened or how Jacen helped Leia hold the ship together with the force or how thats what starts her and Han being not only worried about him but scared and suspicious of his powers as well. Ruins the books and makes you wonder if you skipped a chapter as the charaters are suddenly fixated on a event that you have no knowledge of and no context of why the event was such a big deal.

Slightly better
Slightly better than the first in this series but again it suffers badly from the abridgement. There is very little character development or insight into their motivations. What insight there is seems to be lacking in substantive context or reasoning.
I like the Star Wars series on Audible but these abridged versions are difficult to get through.
