The Resistance has been reborn. The spark of rebellion is rekindling across the galaxy. But although Rey and her fellow heroes are back in the fight, the war against the First Order, now led by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, is far from over.

Rey, Finn, Poe and the Resistance must embark on the most perilous adventure they have ever faced. And this time, they’re facing it together. With the help of old friends, new allies and the mysterious guidance of the Force, the story that began in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and continued in Star Wars: The Last Jedi reaches an astounding conclusion.

Awesome story

Honestly I was little afraid how the sequels will go, but I'm not disappointed at all. Worthy successors in my opinion

better than the film, obviously.

I enjoyed it more than the film, for obvious reasons, the book can delve deeper into things the film skips over. but the problem I have is that I still feel like it was rushed, the whole trilogy could have been a lot better if it was planned out properly from the start. marc thompson delivers a stellar performance as always.

Enjoyed This Very Much

Excellent book, well read with good sound effects. I marked down the story by one star because Ben Solo did not survive. IMO it would have been even better had Ben and Ray walked off together into a new life...,but it was not to be. I haven't yet seen the movie, and some reviews of that are not good, but I will watch that shortly and decide for myself. I find it hard to believe that this is the last in the main Starwars saga. We shall see.

Disappointing Chewie voice

Love this audible book, except the Chewie voice needs rerecording.
May the force be with you.

A very hard book to enjoy

Enjoyed most parts with Kylo/Ben and the little that was added to his part of the story was good. I think the sequel trilogy would of been better if it concentrated on the story of Kylo/Ben alone.

Also it was quite good when Finn was becoming more force sensitive. You feel more for him in the book than you do in the movies.

The rest of the book is quite a frustrating listen. It’s hard to feel anything for the new characters and these new stories just don’t compare to the EU.

The Sequel Trilogy has ruined Luke Skywalker and that’s unforgivable.

Patronising narration

Story is ok, but that's as far as my praise goes! I felt like I was a 6 year old being read a bedtime story. The character voices were awful, and what the hell was the racket that 'Chewie' was making? Shouldn't have bothered. As the story went on, all I could end up hearing was "he said" she said" "said..." it just seemed to take over and detract from the experience. I have listened to 'Darth Plagueis, read by Daniel Davies many times over, and it's a world apart. Much more enjoyable to listen, with no exaggerated accents. Sorry Marc, but you ruined it for me.

Amazing!

The sequel trilogy works much better in book format and book 3 "The Rise of Skywalker" is simply amazing! Story is fantastic and Marc Thomson does an excellent job. One of the best Star Wars books out there (and I have read a lot).
Fans who dislike the sequel movies should give the books a try. You won't be disappointed.

A brilliant book

This book was so good and really delivered. It answered so many questions the movie did not. It totally transformed the whole story for me. The narrator did an amazing job, every voice was spot on and perfectly executed. I can not recommend this book highly enough. It was a real pleasure.

Better than the actual film

Thompson’s narration combined with Carson’s writing made TROS better on paper than on screen. I recommend it to any Star Wars fan, even sequel skeptics

Essential companion to the film

Much like the "Catalyst" prequel novel and the novelization of "Rogue One", this adds vital context and information to the story of Episode 9 which I feel is essential to fully experience the complete story of "The Rise of Skywalker". You could argue that some of this back story should have been present in the film and I certainly wouldn't disagree but it's here nonetheless and together with the film this forms a complete picture which actually greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the film. Marc Thompson is great as always and embodies each character beautifully, particularly the Emperor.

A well read, entertaining Star War

As it's title suggests, this book greatly expands upon the story beats that made it into the final theatrical cut of TROS, while also replacing a number of scenes that were left on the cutting room floor that are in my opinion all crucial to the narrative flow of the story. As such it's about as close as we'll ever get to how the story looked when Abrams & Terrio were happy with it. For this alone it is a must read for anyone left wanting by the movie.
I enjoyed listening to Marc Thompson's read as I totally appreciate the amount of enthusiasm he throws into giving each character's voice recognisable nuances that makes conversations flow without having to constantly throw "...said so and so's" in the middle of the dialogue.
All in all a well read, entertaining Star War. Probably not the jaw dropping finale to the Skywalker Saga that we were all hoping for, but it's the one we got, and this is far and away the most comprehensive version of it available for us to enjoy.

Star Wars Rise of Skywalker was enjoyable overall. Narrator was brilliant. Story was ok. I've been a fan since the original, it's a shame that Disney didn't keep with George Lucas' vision

Better than the movie?

Plugs a lot of potholes, without being overt with the answers to a few lingering questions, that are better off unanswered...

The perfect way to cap off the Skywalker saga!
This book gives a more in depth look at the movie, the extra context provides a much better understanding of the story. Loved it
