it's wonderful. I hope they write another book!

It is a wonderful book. it takes a minute to get used to the different feel, but then it's so nice hearing these heartfelt stories told by two of your favorite people (and Paul Giamatti). oh and a cameo by Marty! 😄 I definitely cried more than once. I'll be listening many times for sure! SSDGM

loved loved loved it!

I'm sad it's over, I loved it so much. It felt I was with my friends, listening to their stories...just like their podcast. The book was insightful, delightful and so relatable. I hope there will be a second book. I love you Karen & Georgia! You have no idea what a difference your podcast & book has made to my life!

Amazing

I never knew I could feel like I was a part of something so amazing, although I live in South Africa and it seems so far away I feel a deep connection with Karen and Georgia and all the wonderful murderinos! THANK you for your honesty and your vulnerability with the deeply personal things that sometimes seem to be too scary to share! You guys are amazing

the sexiest

I love MFM. I have since the first time I heard it and somehow felt connected to both of these strange women who mirrored me in different ways. it was a pleasure to listen to this audio book. The way it was presented felt like home because Karen and Georgia were very much themselves the same way they are in the podcast. Congratulations on writing a book, ladies! SSDGM

I cried most of the way through but in a good way

Upfront I’ve gotta say: if you don’t love Karen and Georgia or their podcast or their accents then this isn’t for you. (I mean you should think about that because they’re objectively wonderful but that’s between you and your therapist).

I loved the references to their famous quotes, and how their anecdotes linked so cleverly to each chapter. I love that some of the parts are recorded from live readings, the audience being there feels a bit like the live show podcast episodes and I love it.

I respect their vulnerability, honesty and ability to share the sides of themselves that don’t make them look good. But sharing those things actually makes me know they are GREAT because they’ve put vanity aside so that we can all relate and feel better about the shitty parts of ourselves.

Anyway. I bought it yesterday and have listened twice so what more can I say?

Nothing new here

You won't really learn anything new from this book, I was hoping for more memoir and less self help. It's fine, it's pretty much just what you get on the podcast and stories you've already heard.

This book is everything!

Karen and Georgia have created a space in which mental health, fascinations with the macabre, being vulnerable and making mistakes are all okay, and are bringing more people to the table to show who they are and what they stand for. I’m so proud to be part of this incredible community of listeners, and the book reflects what they stand for entirely.

Brave, beautiful, funny, emotional, and unashamedly themselves. Thank you Karen and Georgia for sharing your vulnerability with us and for giving us an insight into your own experiences; leading the way to show other badass women that you can do anything you put your mind to!

Bravo ladies, bravo!

Exactly right

Genuine, hilarious, nostalgic and deeply relatable, this audiobook was a perfect listen and a must for any listeners of MFM. Georgia and Karen reading their parts of the book themselves made this audiobook extra special due to the personal and vulnerable topics covered. Karen’s witty play-by-play of a typical latchkey kid afternoon made me laugh and talking about her mother and dementia made me cry and call my mum just to say hi.

the best book from the best podcast

Karen and Georgia are like your besties whom you like to catch up with when you feel like life might be too much and you need to meet for a drink.
They have allowed so many to feel understood and listened to and they give a voice to those who lost their lives to killers by keeping their memories alive!
The book is an extension of MFM where they often share about themselves and accept their vulnerability for the attentive ears of all murderinos.
It is well worth a listen even if you are not a true crime fan just for the life lessons we could all benefit from!

Sit crooked and talk straight

If you’re looking at this book, you probably listen to MFM and are looking for some Hardstark Kilgariff wisdom. In which case you already know that this is the book for you. Download, try not to cry when Karen talks about her mum.
If you don’t listen to MFM, you still need this book. Karen and Georgia are the imperfect older sisters/cool aunts that you need. We’re all massive failures in different ways but we are all learning and growing and if you listen to this you won’t feel alone.
Now go get yourself a can of wine, find a furry friend to curl up with you and enjoy.
Stay sexy and don’t get murdered.

Wonderfully vulnerable

I’ve followed Karen and Georgia’s podcast for years and I am absolutely in awe of their willingness to be vulnerable and open with their stories.

I cried throughout this book. The anecdotes are are succinct and witty, their reflections hit you straight in the heart, and their friendship and love for their people and community is inspiring.

Their personalities seep through in every word on every page and I’ve had the most fun living in their Universe.

Wholeheartedly recommend this journey into the forests of Georgia and Karen’s lives.

Story started good but.....

I thought the first 15-30 minutes into the book was very interesting but afterward it became repetitive. Giving it a 2 stars because the story did had some potential.
