Publisher's Summary

Do you worry a lot? Is it common for you to dread upcoming events? Does pressure or stress trigger outbursts of anger, isolation, depression, or feelings of failure? Do you have a hard time finishing what you start? Do you find it impossible to work in the middle of chaos? Do you wonder if God is really going to come through for you in difficult times?

In Still, Jenny Donnelly teaches you how to experience true, life-giving rest even in the midst of chaos. While most of us think of rest as something we do, Jenny shares how rest is a place from which we live and work. Sharing her own personal story of struggling with life’s pressures and spiritual exhaustion, she introduces you to the source of peace and rest: Jesus. She shows you the steps to take to access rest anytime, anyplace, under any conditions. And she reveals how operating from a place of stillness powers your identity, creativity, relationships, and so much more.

If you’ve been stressed and anxious, operating on autopilot as life whizzes by, it’s time you discovered the resting place God designed for you.

I wanted to read this but halfway thru chapter 1 I quit

Right from chapter 1 the author makes clear her contempt towards mental illness, meds, and shows lack of depth and understanding on the topic. No Susan, not everybody can just say a prayer and live med free. Yes prayer is important. Self help is important. But don’t dismiss more serious cases just cuz yours is a basket of daisies with one wilted flower.

Perfect! Be still <3

The content of this book is amazing! I identified with it a lot since I struggle with anxiety and finding my resting place in Christ. It gives you actual useful and relevant advice and ways to find that test. I’m recommending to my friends! Great narration as well!

I felt like Jenny was telling my story. I yearn for the rest and love she's found and will re-read and practice what she said. Thank you!

Title was misleading.

Got this book as I thought would teach me more about meditation and how to be still then 15 min into it, it was clear there is a religious background. Title was misleading and too orthodox for me.

Inspiring and uplifting

As I listened to this book I was able to relate to many things Jenny wrote about. I was encouraged and inspired to work at being better in my relationship with Jesus, my family and with others. Really good book.

Great Book on Living out of Rest

The beginning is a bit slow when you are already a believer, but once the author gets to the main topic of the book living from a place of rest it gets good. She has lots of very interesting points about why we miss out on rest and how we can go back to a place of rest. She describes how the place of rest looks like well and gives examples of how to stay in rest despite the world being turbulent around us.

Way to go

Beautiful voice of God's desire for us to live Still! Jenny definitely spoke from the heart of our Father! You encouraged me to live in FULL peace.

Narrator was a bit robotic but tolerable.

author traversed gender boundaries

At first I had to put aside that yes as a male some of the story wasn't applicable; continuing on though gender was less an issue, with the author's application of scripture on traversing life in a strange yet beautiful creation. I found it wasn't about me rather it is about glorifying God.
