Easy to follow!!

I am so happy I found this book. It is great for daily listening. It is set up so that each page has a quote for the day and then the analysis and interpretation of that quote as it applies to life today.

Very Informative

Full of great rules and quoted to live by. Chapter 12 delivers 52 quotes one per week that can be life changing. I will begin using those quotes starting this week on my refrigerator.

Enjoyed the book.

I did really enjoyed the book. The best summary , with clear focus, on what stoicism is. The best book to “ grap” the philosofy as a way of living...what is more Important was that it show stoicism as something anyone can embrace if it according to his values or if it is willing to have a better life

Nice One!!

Socrates has informed us to “always be a student.” To always question everything, to try to grow, and learn. What I may not know, another may. We all share different experiences, and different knowledge

Perfect Book!

The concept and practice of Stoicism is new to me and this book lays it out in a way that is understandable and useful. A variation on the title might be "The Practical Book of Stoicism"

the narrator seems to forget what he's saying mid sentence and then repeats from a few words previous. random booop noises during audio and then narrator also back tracks a few words and repeats. very distracting

I want a refund or a narrator that can be bothered

Narrator isn't very good. I had read that in other reviews but didn't think id be that bothered but instead, it really is terrible. cheesy American accent, miss reads words and leaves the mistakes in, random noises. it really is a scrappy job which is a shame as I'm sure this could put people off the subject of this is the first stoic book they've came across

save you money or credit and pick another book. I want a refund

Poorly produced.

This is a poorly produced recording. There are multiple reading errors followed by pauses and restarts and yet oddly, these errors have not been edited out. The subject matter would have benefited from a more engaging and inspired delivery but instead gives the impression of being read straight from a book and is therefore somewhat dull. I have several Audible audio-books all of which are generally excellent but unfortunately this one is disappointing.

Not too interesting and bad narration

Not to interesting and the narrator lots of times mistaken words and takes breaks and repeat them. The interesting part is at the end about how the human brain works though that's unrelated to Stoicism.

Any book on stoicism is great. This is no exception

it is a good listen. It has moments where it teaches you what stoicism is. those are the moments other comments say are poor editing or production. It is simply giving a core of stoicism - practice what you have learned.

If you are not sure about this book, pick another one, but just pick any as stoicism should change your life.

So much packed into This Book!

This is easier listening than much that is a good introduction to Stoicism. And a book with a wider perspective, as a beginners book.

If you want a good introduction to Stoicism that is eminently affordable, surprisingly wide in scope, and that helps you understand well.

Stoicism explained

A thought-provoking listen if you're interested in learning the basics, plus important nuances . This was an excellent follow-up to The Obstacle is the Way by Kevin Carol Miyake . Focusing on what we can control is a core tenet and sounds easy until we are dealt a "bad" set of cards in this game of life.
