Publisher's Summary
Do you want to be the best version of yourself?
Be honest. Have you ever had that feeling of emptiness that is created when you feel powerless after failing again and again in achieving the goals that you set?
If you have ever felt like this at least once in your life...I know exactly how you feel, you are not the only one who has thought about this.
Believe me, I tell you that I spent the nights wondering what I was doing wrong, if my life was doomed to failure and if only a few people had the "luck" to get incredible results both in terms of money and in terms of relationships with others.
Then, one day I knew what I had to do...
"What if these things aren't meant to be changed, but it's me the one who needs to change?"
This thought emerged in me like a flooding river, and overwhelmed me with its strength as I was reading a book called Meditations by an emperor and stoic philosopher called Marcus Aurelius, who revealed to me this simple but incredible secret:
To be successful in life, it is essential to master yourself and be able to control your emotions.
Now everything was clear!
Too many times I had made wrong choices because of my impulsiveness, too many times I let myself be conditioned by others, by their judgments, eclipsing myself.
But how did I manage to get more money, more friends and more peace of mind by applying stoicism to my life?
Well, sit down, because in this book I'll explain:
- How to fight your damaging emotions to get peace of mind regardless of what happens to you.
- The number one stoic method to develop your self-control and become an authority.
- The infallible steps to develop a daily routine to accomplish all your goals.
- How to handle people and develop magnetic empathy.
- How to get rid of stress and anxiety.
- How to apply the precepts of stoic philosophy to modern life with practical and immediate exercises.
- And much more...
So, are you ready to take control of your life? If the answer is yes, listen now!

Not sure what to think about it... wasted $?
This book is filled with way too many “however”, “therefore” and such that it sounded like a choppy patchwork of thoughts.
I don’t like how it referred to recent political figures as shining examples of virtue. LMAO!
The narrator at times sounded very slick like a QVC salesman.
I’m baffled by all the five star reviews...

Addressing Modern Issues
The Stoicism Lifestyle has been around for centuries now while society itself has changed, more drastically now than previously. Knowing what it is to be a Stoic, how to handle certain situations, and how to be decisive isn't practiced by a growing number of people. This is a short read/listen however, it is quite informative. There's an emphasis on self-improvement, honesty, understanding the void and what to do to fill it, and how to properly respond. Controlling one's emotions is imperative for success and conquering internal strife. This book addresses some of the practices of how to handle certain situations i.e., stressors, anxieties, and lack of self-discipline.

stoicism is very practical in real life no matter the year we are in, the way we learn here to live by virtue, to no expect anything from anyone, to live with a mindset that only allows us to make decisions completely based on what we can control is definitely a down to earth way of thinking.

life changing...
After listening to more than half-dozen audiobook samples in Stoicism, once I heard the narrator's voice, I knew this was the one.
What I liked about the narrator was his fresh, clear voice and especially his pauses after every comma or period, to me that makes for an easy listening. That gives my brain a quick pause to process the sentences. I purchased this Audiobook to listen while I drive. In fact, I liked this audiobook so much that when I was half way through my listening I ordered the hard copy. I love books, but since I am not able to read while I drive, I thought I could listen to the audio file and revisit the book if there was a particular subject I wanted to read and memorize to eventually put into practice.
Thank you to the Author for writing such a 'Fluff-Free' book. And thank you to the Narrator for the wonderful experience he provided during the recording of this book.
I definitely recommend this book/ audiobook.

Life changing if you want it to be...
I've been reading around the area of stoicism for a while now and found this book to be clear, concise and not at all preachy. Listening to it a few times as well as at least once a month can really cement the ideas and theories in this book. Not a read once and don't revisit book imo. Stoicism takes practice. if you do this it can show you the ways for YOU to change your life for the better.

"As such", "However" good ideas were expressed
Overall the ideas expressed in the book were useful and did provide a basic overview or the stoic principles of life. Unfortunately the chapters felt confusing and ideas repeated in an ad-hoc manner.
I believe if the ideas would be properly categorised by topics and keep the focus on the topic through more practical examples this book would be more valuable.

Not entirely convinced sorry!
I was curious so thought I’d give it a try. For me the author seems to dismiss the theological roots of Stoicism , stating quite simply that Christianity wiped it out (disregarding such facts such as early Christian monks copying the texts of Epicetius , and early stoic Christians). I am only half way through but so far it seems to me like the advice is wise , like living in the present, focusing on effort rather than outcomes, not dwelling in emotion and recognising when you get upset by things. But for me this has lacked somewhat, I get the same truths but with more depth and breadth and importantly more discussion on love during Sunday services and through reading the Bible.
