Publisher's Summary

Five years.

That’s how long it took me to find her.

Five years after my world shattered, leaving me a scarred and broken man.

By then, the girl I knew was gone. In her place stood a woman. One who looked like an angel. An impossible, beautiful angel.

I killed for her. Soaked my hands in the blood of those who hurt her and rescued her from hell.

But hell has a way of following you. Becoming a part of you. Maybe the only part you recognize.

I had every intention of bringing her home. Setting her free.

I swear I did.

But the men who stole her all those years ago weren’t done with her yet. They’d stop at nothing to get her back. And I’d kill any man who tried to take her from me.

She calls me her avenging angel.

But I know the truth.

I’m no angel.

Because even as I tell myself I’m protecting her, I know one thing for sure.

I am a monster, too. No better than them.

Because just like them, I’ll never let her go.

Author's note: Stolen is Dante Grigori's story, and although a stand-alone, would be better enjoyed after reading With This Ring and I Thee Take.

Not as good as I had expected

The story could have been great but for me the one hours of the story wasted on repeated denials even after it became ridiculously pointless took way too much away from the storyline. Denials made sense to a point but far too much time is devoted to it that could’ve been better spent moving the story along. That said, if there is another book regarding St. James I would still get it.

Wen Ross and Stephanie Kay did an amazing job with narration as always.

Dante’s Vow

The storyline was surprisingly good, I love duel narration but I hated the female narrator(Stephanie Kay)she was too fricken whiny, ugh it spoiled the experience for me. If you can look past that than you might enjoy this book/listen.🎧

Roller coaster ride

Dante is Mauras avenging angel and his obsession to keep her safe is quite intriguing. Maura vulnerable but entrust her love and security at Dante’s will, however he is torn about wanting what’s best for her and believing he is the only one capable of doing just that. I THINK I AM FALLING IN LOVE WITH NATASHSA KNIGHT dark twisted romance where women are victims and yet the men who rescues them put them at front and center of it allowing them to find a bee lease on life.

Great story and narration

You need to read the first two books before reading this one. With this ring and I take thee. I found myself binge reading all three books as the mystery and intrigue were strong. I cried and laughed through all three books.

All three books were well worth the credits.

Book 3 is everything!!!

Now this is the way to end this series. I just love Mara and Dante, all the imperfections, yet so perfect together. The story of Mara itself can be disturbing to some, like what she went through. But overall this book was enthralling.

Loved the storyline BUT Mara annoyed me!!!

I was obsessed with this series! And I couldn’t wait to read this book. With that being said, Mara portrayed an extremely annoying, unstable victim not a grateful survivor. Her actions were inconsistent, rude and aggravating. While I expected her character to be skeptical and wounded after being abused for years, this book seemed to go on & on about how she didn’t believe a word coming from her hero, Dante. So frustrating! I kept thinking how ridiculous and pathetic it was for her to keep denying that he was her childhood friend and not appreciating him risking his life for her. At one point, she fights him while hurling insults about his disability. Heart wrenching! This book has an excellent ending. However, I couldn’t wrap my head around her character and stop routing for them to become a potential couple after the first few chapters. Its worth reading but the female character is just irritating 🤨

WHAT A THRILL RIDE.. but please treat as book 3

I first listened to the To Have and To Hold Duet way back in April and I’ve listened to a lot of books since then - so I went back and listened to them over again before starting this book and I’m so very glad I did. I know this book says ‘stand-alone’ but I really advise you to first listen to Books 1 and 2 otherwise you’ll be a bit lost with all the characters, the drive and desperation and much of the backstory plus you’d miss out on two great books. Therefore (IMO), I view this book as the third book in a gripping, dark, intense trilogy with heartache, bloodshed, emotional turmoil and grief.. but there’s so much growth, forgiveness and beauty too when all the bad guys are finally defeated and the loveable monsters left standing are yours and they can finally put down their weapons and find peace.

In this book Dante’s five year search comes to a head when he finally locates Mara, his five yr old family friend taken fifteen years ago but presumed dead in the bloody massacre of his family that accidentally left two brothers alive. Alive but consumed by hate as they plotted their revenge on every single person who was involved. Dark avenging angels and, in books 1 and 2 (which focusses mainly on Cristiano) they get revenge. However, they also discovers a lot of secrets and truths too.. truths that darken Dante’s heart even more because it’s about Mara. And, in this thrilling suspense-filled book, he gets Mara back.. but Dante’s war isn’t over - he’ll make them all pay.. those men who tortured, raped, abused, terrified and changed Mara at any cost to himself. But Mara is no longer the innocent happy little girl who loved him and left paper hearts for him.. now her life with monsters has left her broken yet fierce and equally as dark, damaged and twisted as him. Their broken pieces would fit perfectly together if only Dante’s stubborn hate for himself and his roots would let her in. This is a war.. a war on the past.. on the present.. and on the future that could be if enemies and emotional demons are both sleighed. And Mara is determined to fight for Dante.. and she wants blood on her hands too.

Worth a credit? Definitely yes.. the well-thought out intricate web, the revelations, the emotional turmoil, the delicious revenge, the overflowing of feels, the suspense and danger, the chemistry and sizzles, the damaged sex, the character growth and the long list of secondary characters all prove one thing.. Natasha Knight is one hell of a gifted author. And the five star dual POV narration by Wen and Stefanie brought it all to life.

another absolutely brilliant story

Loved every second of this series. I just couldn't wait to get back to it each time I had to stop it was so intense, the was something happening all the time.
As for the narrators they were good but I don't see the point of having them both if they don't read the dialogue according to the gender. I don't like it that the characters have a different voice everytime the narrator changes.
But I love these books by Natasha Knight. I am now going to listen to Jericho's story who was one of the characters in this duet.

5 🌟 Loved this story ❤️

Dante the fallen angel, is a man on a mission. This story is beautifully written. I'm glad this book has a happy ending.

Jericho from the Devil's pawn is also a character in this book. I got so excited because before I listened to this story I had just listened to the Devil's Pawn Duet.

I recommend this book, make sure you listen to the other two books before this one.

book 3 in the to have and to hold series

glad we got Dante's story, this book does have an age gap between the couple her being 20 and him approx 31 is but there is little mention of it in the book. it does contain the topic of human trafficking as in the previous books. this was a great continuation of the previous 2 books and the narration was spot on from these two, really bringing the characters and story to life. Well worth the credit spent.

Amazing

I read the book so I knew the story but the performers make it so much more.
