Publisher's Summary

How would your life change...
if you could read another’s thoughts?
If you were the one...
to break the biological code?

Imagine John Grisham meets Michael Crichton in a fast-paced, philosophical mystery thriller.

There’s been a breakthrough on the campus of Caltech. A discovery. An invention. One so startling and surprisingly sinister that the inventor can’t tell a soul.

Designed to delight diehard Tim Tigner fans and new listeners alike, Stolen Thoughts is a cerebral thriller that you will never forget.

Precariously poised at the center of the action is Victoria Pixler, a bioengineering student with a tragic past, a passionate quest, and a brilliant mind. After a decade of dedication, she’s just completed her life’s work only to have her dream shattered and her career terminated - by the least likely suspect. Meanwhile, propelling the thrills from the middle of the mystery is one of humanity’s great questions: Would the power to read minds be a blessing, or a curse?

Packed with enlightened anecdotes, amusing quips, and suspense that will rivet listeners to their chairs, this novel delivers Tigner’s trademark fast-paced action and first-class intellectual intrigue - from characters you can’t forget.

Prepare for sleep-deprived nights while repeating the phrase: "Just a few minutes more."

Keeps you riveted and thinking

In Stolen Thoughts, Tigner wastes no time plunging the reader into the action, and it’s my kind of action. It’s original, it’s unpredictable, and it makes you think.

Those not familiar with Tigner’s biography or prior works might wonder if suspending disbelief is required to enjoy a novel where someone develops the technology to read minds. Well, it’s not. The technology is credibly and seamlessly presented in an easily digestible way that keeps the reader’s focus on the fascinating plot, which revolves around the dilemmas and conflicts resulting from that secret discovery.

While the philosophical questions and ethical dilemmas provide a layer of depth one doesn’t usually enjoy in fiction, they’re easy to ignore if that’s not your thing since the book is taut with suspenseful twists, plenty of action, and just enough romance thrown in to get all your senses engaged.

The characters, even the evil ones, were relatable, easy to picture, and fun to root for. The conclusion was both surprising and satisfying, also, I fear a bit prophetic.

Another 5/5 star novel from Tim Tigner.

Smart thriller and timely topic!

I really enjoyed this book. I was a big fan of The Price of Time. Get that book too! They stand alone but are similar. Great story. A real thriller with smart characters and touches on issues like internet/Facebook and privacy. A smart thriller touching on timely topics.

One of Tim Tigner's Best

Between the stand-alones and the Kyle Achilles series, I'm a big fan of Tim Tigner's work. While some of my favorite elements I've come to expect were there (fast paced action, technological advancement/fantasy), there was some new style to this book. The characters seemed more real/vulnerable than before, more emotional. It was just the twist needed for this book.

I think for most authors, wrapping up the book can be difficult and sometimes they can drag on. In this book, the only part of the ending I didn't like was that it ended. I can't imagine how it could have been extended, but I would have been happy to see it continue. It was an insane amount of fun to it.

New favorite author

What would you do if you had the power to read others thoughts? Tim Tigner writes insightful books with twist and turns that make you think what if. This is his first book with a female lead. Fabulous to see a smart, resourceful female scientist take on the "bad guys". I love how he sets up the start of the book with Vicky reading a thugs mind. This is a book that's hard to put down.

Intriguing and Captivating

Could not stop listening to this audio book without knowing I am missing out on the next future plot-twist ahead! The concept is intriguing. The plot is unexpected with a captivating main character! At the end, I really hope there is a sequel to “Stolen Thoughts”!

Amateurish

The storyline develops quickly based upon an interesting premise. The first 30% of the books reads well, is fast paced and the characters have interesting back stories that are adequately fleshed out. Then the wheels fall off. The story becomes sluggish and requires great leaps of logic to keep it stitched together . The characters, all of the characters, suddenly become idiotic in their choices of how the mind reading technology could be used and its “threat” to humanity. The storyline is essentially over 2/3 of the way in and the remainder becomes just an epilogue. Reads like the author ran out of ……………..

is essentially over
