Why We Need Jesus More Than Compliments

"You're a beautiful daughter of the Most High King." And it's true. But it's not the whole truth. The beauty of being God's daughter has backstory.

If you're tired of hearing the watered-down Christian teaching and hungry for a deeper spiritual life - one that gives real answers to your hardest questions - Stop Calling Me Beautiful teaches you how. You will learn:

  • How to pursue the truths of who God is and who you are in relationship to him
  • How to study Scripture, and how your view of God determines how you face life's challenges
  • How legalism, shallow theology, and false teaching keep you from living boldly as a woman of the word
  • How to experience God's presence in painful circumstances

Jesus doesn't offer a powerless salvation. He makes your brokenness part of his whole redemption story - if you allow him to. Don't settle for a feel-good faith. If you want victory over insecurity, fear, shame, and the circumstances you are facing, it's time to embrace Jesus. All of him.

not what I expected, in a good way!!

from the title I expected something along the lines of "you are more than just your beauty" but instead this book is full of deep and foundational truths, there is practical advice on how to apply biblical truths to our every day.

So refreshing in the midst of this self help movement

Probably the best book I’ve read on gospel womanhood. She is real and straight forward but gracious and encouraging. Always pointing back to Christ. Will be listening to this one more than once and recommending it to many.

Narrator is whiny; struggled through book

Read it yourself! The narrator is whiny. The content is so good and valuable to Christian growth. Buy the book!!

Really good content.

I loved the books content, it was thought provoking. However I struggled with narration.

will have to purchase a hard copy

I cannot listen to this book. It honestly sounds like a robot has narrated it. I'm so distracted by the voice that I can't absorb the content.

A necessary read for this generation of women!

This book is a breath of fresh air! From the very beginning I was drawn into Phylicia’s vulnerability, transparency and depth of biblical teaching. This book has both encouraged and empowered me in my devotion to Christ and commitment to the great commission. I am buying a copy of this book for the women in my world as it is life changing! Thank you Phylicia, for writing a fantastic book!!!
