Without question, this is a classic by one of the most exciting new authors in the UFO field today. After listening to it, your view of reality will never be the same. Story
I'm a 64-year-old retired lawyer and former Assistant Attorney General with an unusual story to tell. Every word of it is true. It happened in a state park known as Devil's Den. For fear of losing my job and damaging my reputation in the legal community, I never spoke about the incident. If it hadn't happened to me, I'd be skeptical too. In 1977, I was an active duty NCO in the USAF. A friend and I planned a two-night camping trip to explore the wilderness. We drove deep into the forest until we came to a high plateau. There on the horizon sat a perfect triangle of three very bright stars....

Communion is the iconic classic in which Whitley Strieber describes his 1985 close encounter experiences. This book, which fundamentally changed the way we understand close encounters and alien abductions, is presented here with a new introduction by the author. Do not miss this great classic and the powerful introduction that explores the situation as it stands today—even more provocative and important now, as official sources are admitting that UFOs are real unknowns and that they seem to have something to do with close encounters.

Story
Of the many books on UFOs and aliens, this one may be unique. Richard Dolan, one of the world’s leading historians of the UFO subject, has analyzed the different alien types and agendas based on longstanding patterns observed by witnesses. This is both a careful review of the best evidence we have of human-alien interaction, as well as a bold speculation of just who the aliens are and what they want. Dolan’s analysis starts with our ancient prehistory and potential genetic modifications and monitoring by extraterrestrials.

In a direct, authoritative challenge to researchers who believe the abduction phenomenon is essentially benevolent and spiritually uplifting, Professor David M. Jacobs proves that there is a far more disturbing and potentially dangerous plan underway, with possible alien domination at its core.

Story
In Dimensions, Dr. Jacques Vallee reexamines the historical record that led to the modern UFO phenomenon and to the belief in alien contact. He then tackles the enigma of abduction reports, which come from various times and various countries, as well as the psychic and spiritual components of the contact experience. In the last portion of the book, he notes the factors that inhibit research into the phenomenon - the triple coverup and political motivations - and concludes that the extraterrestrial theory is simply not strange enough to explain the facts.

In this dark work, John Keel explores these phenomena, and in doing so reveals the shocking truth about our present position and future destiny in the cosmic scheme of things.

Story
When this work was first published in 1970, it shredded the then-trendy nuts-and-bolts extraterrestrial hypothesis for UFOs in favor of one that linked UFOs to a variety of paranormal and supernatural phenomena that have taken place throughout history. Keel was one of the first to note that the UFO phenomenon appears in different disguises - and that one could not begin to decipher this great mystery without first taking into account its many and varied deliberate deceptions.

Publisher's Summary
This book is a companion to the groundbreaking ideas that began with The Messengers. It is a further exploration into the connection, both symbolic and literal, between owls and UFOs. There is a strangeness to these accounts that defies any simple explanation. Each chapter tells a deeply personal story where these mysterious experiences are explored in depth. The ancient mythology of the owl is repeating itself within the modern UFO report. What plays out is a journey of transformation, with an owl at the heart of each story.

A fascinating and enjoyable exploration
I really enjoyed listening to this audio book. There's this mysterious clash between ordinary reality and high strangeness that happens to some people and it's often not talked about by these people. For obvious reasons.
Mike Clelland has had an interesting podcast and youtube videos of conference talks, as well as interviews he has given to other people, so I've often come across his work and experiences as I indulge my interest in UFOs and Consciousness.
Because of his blog and podcasts and talks and interviews, when people have googled to find out more about some strange thing that happened to them - often involving owls - Mike Clelland pops up.
Therefore, he has become a contact hub for many people that have had strange experiences, and who share those experiences with him. Over some years, five? or six?, I've often read or listened to Mike Clelland share some of these stories, and over time his own stories also started to gel.
His first book, The Messengers, was a compilation and connect-the-dots collection of these such stories. Because he is a hub of connection, he sees similarities, synchronicities, and symbols between people who have never met each other, or even people who have, but didn't know they had the same type of experience until both have submitted their stories to Mike.
This second book is a deeper exploration of such experiences and stories. It's a strange juxtaposition of every day life - grocery shopping, commuting - with unusual experiences - hellhounds, large owls, regular owls, deer, orbs, 11:11 or other significant numbers, visions, and of course UFOs.
That's the strange thing. You are just doing your regular thing and WHAM! something weird happens. You google it, or a friend tells you to tell this guy, and Mike Clelland gets your story. And, the weirdness is that he gets another story just like yours, and maybe another. And within the stories are synchronicities.
So, this book unfolds, story after such story of things that happened to people. Some very recently, in 2017. And the connections unfold too.
Well written, it's an exploration with pondering, wonderment, and gentle speculation of a series of events that hint at a much bigger reality that our human minds have yet to grasp. But, it's good to consider what clues we have.
For the nuts-and-bolts UFO researchers, this may be a way to dip your toe into the exploration of consciousness ideas, some high strangeness, and weird happenings. What is most striking is how ordinary our lives are and how these experiences happen to regular people doing regular things.
Well, maybe they aren't regular people after all, or afterwards.

Captivating!
I binged this. The narration done by the author puts you in the space of hearing these accounts first hand. He has very eloquently painted the picture of what it is to come to the realization that there is high strangeness in your life. It can be a long and winding road of mysterious markers and crumbs designed to wake you up. This collection of accounts paints the picture of what it is to notice the signs and how it changes your life. This is a great read for the curious reader and/or for those seeking and trying to make some sense of their own mysterious happenings. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more work from the author.

Fascinating stories
I bought Mike Clelland's first book, The Messengers, and really enjoyed reading it. When I heard that he had an audiobook available of book no. 2 , a deeper look into the stories, I put it on my wish list right away. Mike has a good voice for audio as I know from his podcast series. If you are unfamiliar with his podcast, you should take a listen to the archive. I finally got the book on audible and it took me awhile to finish because it is long and so full of fascinating stories. It was really great for commuting. I highly recommend this book. There are multiple reasons to give it a read or listen. 1. If you are interested in ufos or paranormal. 2. If you can agree with the statement "the world is a much weirder place than it appears to be" and 3. If you have had any odd encounters with owls, you will want to read this book.

Repetitive and a Little cringy.
I like paranormal stuff and weird esoteric things. I wanted more from this book than just a bunch of stories that make me question the credibility and research of the author. I know that the point of this book is personal accounts of this high strangeness but it really just felt like the author just made up all this crap. Ehhhhhh...

Even Better than The Messengers!
I loved this book from start to finish. Beautifully written and narrated, I went from moments of awe to moments when goosebumps danced over my body. An experiencer myself, although I haven't experienced the owls, I was blown away by how these people's stories nevertheless meshed perfectly with mine. Told with great sensitivity, I can understand why so many people trusted Mike Clelland enough to retell their extraordinary otherworldly encounters.

Intriguing and sensible look at something that makes no sense. It adds an area of detail to the subject that other investigators have overlooked or perhaps even left out for reasons of credibility. Well worth it and I think I'll listen again.

A wonderful and profound journey into Oz
This work is a fascinating look into the stranger aspects of the UFO experience; aspects that are too easily lost in many UFO studies. The stories you will hear are made all the more compelling by the author's own wonderful performance as the profound subject of his inquiry continues. It grabs your attention and leaves you wanting more. I look forward to your next one Mike! Mike Clelland narrates this, his own book, in his gentle hypnotic voice and it is great for that. You can hear his pain, bewilderment and raw honesty.
