Publisher's Summary

Silence has fallen. The Psy are free to feel emotion. Free to love. But Silence was never a prison for Ivan Mercant. The biggest threat to his future lies dormant in his brain—a psychic monster that wants only to feed. And now, the brutal leash he's kept on that monster is slipping. He prepared for this day, for the end of Ivan Mercant . . . but that was before he met Lei.

As primal as she is human, this wild changeling brings color into his life. Then the dream shatters in a rain of blood. Lei is gone. Vanished without a trace . . . until he meets strangely familiar eyes across a busy San Francisco street.

Soleil Bijoux Garcia is a healer who has lost everything. She exists in a world of desolate aloneness . . . till the day she finds herself face-to-face with a lethal stranger. The animal who is her other half knows this man, but her memories are tattered fragments. Sorrow and a need for vengeance are all that drive her. Her mission? To kill the alpha of the DarkRiver leopard pack.

But fate has other plans. Soon, a deadly soldier who believes himself a monster and a broken healer might be all that stand between life and death for the entire Psy race . . . .

Contains mature themes.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Disjointed and Boring

Have all the books in all the series and this one is the worst despite Dawe’s performance.

Scarab Queen

I think most of us have guessed who the Scarab Queen is by now. I won't spoil it of course. This story is a seamless continuation of the series. Ivan is a great character and Arwen appears often. I'm super attached to Arwen. I wish we could have seen some of the Bears. I really adore the Bears. Nalini remains one of my favorite authors and the way she stays true to her characters is true magic. Now we have to wait for the next book.

confused by what happened to the island

I'm confused by the island. What happened to the people and did it reconnect to the main psy-net. The last two chapters were not well written or described. Ivan's psy power was not well described or explained; his regular power and the "spider" power. He became the nucleus or foundation for a new psy-net but not HOW it came to be. It was all very vague. The last few chapters need to be expanded upon.

Great!

A great addition to the Psy-Changleling series! I really enjoyed it! Though not as much as I did the original Psy-Changeling series. It's just the characters were more related to each other and familiar by the time we read their stories. The Trinity arc is all over the place.

Another winner

Always amazed at the freshness to each story and yet the meeting of past chstacters. Fantastic narrator just puts it over the top. Lei was happiness, light and funny but inner core of steel. Ivan so determined, so hurt, so strong. We also learn more about Scarbe Queen. only complaint, not long enough🤣 Loved it.

1st time I’ve been disappointed

I normally love, love the novels in these series. Not this one. It was lacking something. I listened to it twice & waited before reviewing. It doesn’t measure up to it’s predecessors.
I normally love Angela Dawe, but it sounds as if she’s whispering, maybe she’s going for ASMR. I have noticed it the last few titles. Listen to Slave to Sensation & you can hear the difference. I’m not a fan.
I’m so disappointed! I can’t even begin to describe my disappointment!

Amazing as always!

I've loved almost every book in this series. I love the fact that you get updates about old characters while meeting new ones. The world that is created in this series double backs over and over without ever getting stale. Can't wait for the next book.

One of my favorites

I enjoy most of this authors books, especially the psych- changeling. Learned much more about Lucas as alpha, hadn't felt much connection to him before. Hope we get more about the wolves. As always enjoy the acceptance for those who are different from ourselves. Can't wait for the next book!
