A modern day Outlander
A liberated, feisty woman learns to live in mediaeval times.
The Storm at Keizer Manor was not my typical read (listen), but this is why it worked. At the time I was listening to this, Outlander was my new Netflix binge. The difference was the humor in this story. Annette took with her when she crosses times, her wit, her mouth, and her knowledge. Before crossing over, she wasn't sure how she felt about Forrest, her boyfriend and father of her unborn baby. Now, left abandoned on a stormy night, he's the one thing she needs more than anything.
Working at the Keizer Museum before crossing over, Annette knew the mansion and the man who would make it famous with his paintings, Alex Keizer. Struggling to fit in as a modern woman, along with being pregnant and unmarried, Annette fights with Alex and all the villagers backward ways.
Now comes the romance! YEAH! A fiery woman, a stubborn man...The recipe for heating things up.
While learning to become a 19th century woman, Annette grows respect for Alex and his paintings he will be known for in the future. Though Alex's father thinks it a waste. Alex is drawn to Annette's spit-fire mouth and begins to fall hard for this fiery woman who has intrigued him. In order to save both their reputations, Alex suggest they marry. But Annette still is looking to get back to the future and Forrest.
Between the romance of Alex and Annette, and Forrest searching for his lost finance, the story has many pivotal moments. I was torn between Annette staying with Alex, or finding her way back to Forrest.
The plot will keep you guessing with an ending I see a sequel.
Ramcy Diek gives us a great story with sacrifice and degrees of love, and the willingness to change for survival. Susan Marlowe's narration gave each character their personal flair and identity.
I think this is one I will discuss on my podcast.

Exhilarating and Totally Captivating!
I absolutely crave to hear more from this fascinating family. The time warp was thrilling and totally believable.
I loved how Annet surprised the people in her new "old" world. She was so spunky and intelligent.
The romantic parts were exactly that...no vulgarity. I sure do hope there is a sequel so I can hear more from the Kaiser family. Thanks to the great author for gifting me the Audible code. The narrator has such a pleasing voice ...just right!!

A cool take on time travel
This was overall 3.5 for me. I think some might really love it. And it might have been a 4. However, I got hung up on the way things were worded and how the main female character acted when back in time. Just small things, but I feel it makes a difference for continuity. This is mostly a romance, so if you like romances, I am sure you will move past the small things that got to me. I loved the end! The narrator did alright, it was just the New Jersey type accents every once in a while that I didn't really like.
If you like The Outlander, you will enjoy this.

Career girl gets transported to 19th Century
What happens when a thoroughly modern and pregnant 21st century woman known for her "potty-mouth" gets sent back to the 19th century? Will she make her way back or be stuck there forever? Will she find her way back to her true love Forrest or have to make a new life with her baby in the past? Given these basics to work with Ramey Diek crafted a marvelous time travel romance that was neither straightforward nor predictable! It was however, extremely entertaining and very relatable! It also came at the perfect time for me. I was ready for a good romance and like the occasional time travel story and this fit the bill nicely. Annette was a fiesty career gal who got thrown into the 1840's and all that was expected of women then - without really any tutelage except anything she might have happened to have read-which lead to some interesting encounters! The story did not proceed as expected, there were several twists that surprised me, and the ending was not predictable. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend that you take the time to listen as well!

Fun time travel story
The was a fun time travel romance novel. I am a sucker for time travel books and this one did not disappoint! On a stormy night, modern potty-mouthed (and pregnant) Annette is knocked out and wakes up to find herself two centuries back in time. Her language and modern feministic views cause quite the stir.
Meanwhile, her boyfriend, Forest, is left behind to wonder about her disappearance. From there, the story is told in alternating viewpoints from Annette and Forest’s new lives.
The book grazes over some historic moments and probably isn’t true to the language at the time, so I wouldn’t recommend this for historians. However, I would recommend this for romance readers and time travel enthusiasts. I will definitely read any other books by this author!
I was given the audio version of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Flawless, Unique & Engaging Time Travel Adventure
Let it be said upfront - I am not a fan of the time travel genre, finding the books, in general, to be repetitive, a little tedious, hard to connect with, and far fetched (yes I know it's supposed to be fantasy but..... ), Also full of stereotypical barbarians, evil clansmen or other poor representatives of the era. In short, most of them just don't add jam to my sandwich....
But I do love Ramcy Diek and decided I would put my trust in her and run with it. And with Susan Marlowe reading, I knew the pace would be excellent and the characterisations engaging.
I simply was not prepared to absolutely love this book - I was so sad it ended - I wanted to hear so much more about Amazon' and the Kaisers, the industrial revolution and the quirky women of the era who broke out of the expected traditional mold. This book is utterly captivating and a fantastic listen from beginning to end and from the scenes in the Nunnery to the underwear in the textile factory, totally hilarious. Bravo!!!!

Time travel romance done well
A great take on the time travel stories. The author does a great job developing the characters. Annet and Forrest seem to be a perfectly lovely couple. Separated by a time ending storm each carries on the best they know how. I’m hoping we soon see the another book with Forrest’s tale. The narration was smooth and consistent and helped move the story along. Great over all experience’

Beautiful time-travel romance
Annex works at Keizer Manor museum while her boyfriend tries to find a job. Due to her upbringing Annet has no wish to get married or have children. Therefore, she’s not overly happy to find herself pregnant. With her emotions in a spin Annet is caught up in a storm that throws her into the past. I liked how every few chapters we dropped back to Forrest to see how he was doing after Annet disappears. Wasn’t so keen on the swearing but thought it might have been added to contrast how different our world is now. Very enjoyable story.

Engaging time travel novel
Annet and Forrest are high school sweethearts whose lives are turned upside down when Annet unexpectedly falls pregnant. While she deals with the implications of her pregnancy, Annet continues to work at the Keizer Museum, famous for its paintings by Alexander Keizer, as they prepare to celebrate its 200 year old anniversary.
On the evening of the celebration, however, Annet and Forrest take a stroll in the sand dunes. Suddenly a freak storm breaks out which results in the two becoming separated. When Annet comes to, she finds herself in a monastery in the year 1840 and rescued by none other than Alexander Keizer himself, to whom she feels an instant connection.
Meanwhile, back in the 21st century, a frantic Forrest searches for Annet and finds himself a suspect as they had quarrelled prior to Annet’s disappearance. While the previously independent Annet struggles to conform to the life and restrictions of 19th century, Forrest must endure the stares and accusations aimed at him by others. Will fate intervene once more and send her back to the father of her baby or will she find love with Alexander?
Storm at Keizer Manor is an engaging time travel novel and was my first introduction to the author. Fans of Outlander will recognise the similarities about a woman who travels back in time and finds love. That’s where the parallels end however. Annet is a relatable - albeit at times flawed - protagonist who readers won’t help empathising with. The prospect of having to give birth without the aid of 21st century medicine, in an era where the mortality rate during childbirth would have been relatively high, is enough to send anyone in a panic.
I was impressed by the way the author managed to weave a story that transitions back and forth between both timelines without ever becoming disjointed. The author’s descriptive writing and historical detail offered great insight into the 19th century and made each one of her time frames come alive. Readers will find themselves torn between the new relationships being formed and wanting to see the reunion between Annet and Forrest. There are enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and an ending that I for one, didn’t see coming. I’ll definitely be looking out for future works from the author.
I received an advanced free audible copy of Storm at Keizer Manor and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Susan Marlowe did an excellent job in bringing the characters and the story to life with her clear, concise delivery which made it easy to differentiate between characters

Interesting.
I don't really know how to rate this story. I enjoyed the book but Annet annoyed the heck out of me, probably because I'd be just as annoying as her in being a well-intentioned know-it-all! I didn't enjoy how the narrator dropped the ends off of words but otherwise she was good.

Interesting concept with relatable characters
I liked this foray into time travel/romantic fiction very much. The concept of one travelling back in time to enact the change that is necessary for the present to exist as it is sounds plausible and is evidently well thought through. There were a couple of things that niggled, though. Firstly, the event which causes the incident to occur is never explained and, weirdly, people living in the 19th century don't seem to have any problems comprehending 21st century language use or vocabulary, although these things are markably different. Aside from these things, I enjoyed this. It's refreshing to imagine an alternative reality for people who love each other but are not destined to remain together finding other chances at happiness and fulfilment in unexpected quadrants. The narration was pleasant and suited the book well enough.

Storm @ Keizer Manor -Audiobook review
I loved this fun time-travel romance. The author Ramcy Diek did a wonderful job of transporting you to a different time, and I often wondered in the novel how I would have acted / reacted / lived my story had this happened to me.... Being a very outspoken & modern woman myself this really intrigued me throughout the book. I loved all the characters that made the story a joy to hear. I enjoyed the narrator Susan Marlowe's way of bringing everyone to life.

Entertaining plot, good narration!
I really enjoyed this little time travelling adventure - it was a little slow to start but once the heroine ends up in the past the pace picks up nicely.
Personally I enjoyed Annet’s plot line in the past a lot more than Forrest’s in the now, I related to her and I also didn’t find her particularly foul mouthed as other reviews might indicate - but then I’m European, so really this is nothing to us :)
Both plot lines are being tied up nicely in the end though.
The narration by Susan Marlowe was great - a very relaxing and easy to follow audio experience.

Superb
What a great listen this was, not my usual genre but intriguing in a way. The story is of 2 universes or 2 parallels and starts with Annet who left high school and moved in with her lover because she just could not get on with her mothers love life and her lovers, and although Forrest her lover has a degree he cannot get a job so Annet supports him by working in the Keizer Manor with all the artwork which she loves. On the open day at the Manor, she and Forrest have an argument and while making up they take a stroll through the dunes when a storm blows in and they get separated. Annet comes too in a monastery run by nuns and although this is the 21st century and is a woman in her own right she is quite defensive and rude to the people that were looking after her, so rude in fact that she goes off and finds refuge in a run-down cottage owned by Alexander Keizer, it does take some time for Annet to adjust to this new timeline that a first was refusing to believe, but she did in the end love Alexander and was quite entertaining how she had to learn to adapt to1840 life and was told many times what she should be doing and not doing to become the lady of the household and to be seen and not heard, quite a task for this lady and in the meantime in the other parallel Forrest does his best to find out what happened to her and even takes her place at the manor Brilliant listen excellent narration, would like to know more about this author.
