Publisher's Summary

Something strange lurks just beyond the woodline

The woods and forests can be a true dichotomy of experiences. For many they offer a peaceful connection to nature, but for some they have been a source of terror. In the shadows of towering trees and hidden in the brush, these unlucky few have encountered creatures or monsters that most think only inhabit our nightmares.

Steve Stockton, a veteran outdoorsman and paranormal researcher, has put together a vast collection of over eighty terrifying, odd and strange encounters. These chilling tales may leave you questioning whether you ever want to journey into the woods again.

Grade school kids in TN with BB guns

Disappointed overall with grade school kid experiences dominating the stories. Steve Stockton doesn’t do the narration, which is another reason I wasn’t happy with it.

Save your money and your time

These stories are ridiculous and the narrator is so boring I almost recommend this to use as a sleep aid.

Not wonderful

If stories of being freaked out because you saw clothes laid out in the woods, or heard voices in the woods, etc., does it for you, this book is for you. For me, it takes considerably more to be of interest. The average podcast is more entertaining to me.

Bizarre

These stories are pretty far fetched, to the point where they were just silly. Not impressed.

Disappointed

The short stories that compose the book are not consistently scary or even interesting. I'd say most of them are completly forgettable and even the best of the stories are average.

Don't do it.

If you value your credits then don't use them here. I've read and heard scary stories told, specifically for kids, that were more believable and scary than anything here.

The Woods Are Creepy Dark And Deep

Imaginative and entertaining! If each chapter is really true, I will not be going into the woods without a 357Magnum!

I have definitely heard almost all these stories from another book. So it was greatly disappointing.

Love the author and short stories.

Loved the book and it's author. Have been listening to him for a while. I do wish he had been able to narrate the book. I enjoyed every single story and wish there were more like this. It brings beck old memories. Good for young adult and up. Would like all his books in Audible.
