JT

I heard of the book from a long time pastor friend who said he was using it in his personal devotions. I then looked it up and saw it was in an audio book and decided to try it. Must say it is a great resource for leaders who want recalibrate, recharge, and renew focus , .

Shaky hermeneutics & anthropocentric

She makes some of the strangest hermeneutical choices, which leave me profoundly uncomfortable. For example, I’m Moses didn’t go into the wilderness because he was unable to face his trauma or identity.

Good read and listen

We read this in our pastoral team and felt like it was timely for the sessions we were making and the growing of our team together through some transitions in leadership. Overall I liked it. Felt a bit repetitive at the beginning but oddly enough just got better towards the end. The last chapter was my favorite. While it’s certainly no in depth look at the life of Moses it’s certainly an interesting overview from the viewpoint of Moses as a leader and how God brought him from an angry man to epic leader. Not my favorite narration but can’t quite put my finger on why. Maybe it just didn’t match the voice in my head as I read sections from the physical copy of the book as well as just listening at times with audible.
Recommended to pastors and leaders of any Christian organization who loves and leads others to Christ and wants some help developing their leadership skills and needs encouragement to get after their relationship with the Lord.

Strengthened and renewed.

This book was such a milestone for me I measure time by when I read it. Reading it again every year challenges and renews. Also greatly enriched by podcast of the same name. Thank you Ruth. TH Sydney, Australia.

good

good ideas, mostly backed up well with the bible. various parts quite helpful for me in my journey. narrator sadly didnt pause much so it was hard to take in the poetry well. narrator's happy tone didnt always fit the topics but u get used to it.
