When fate brought me to the fantasy world of Aurilon, I thought I'd seen everything. If I only knew how wrong I was. Now, I’ve discovered monsters are real, they’re stunningly beautiful, and they need my help. In this world, men’s cores are cursed, preventing them from cultivating and achieving incredible power. Fortunately, I’m not from this world. With several amazing monster girls at my side, I'll forge a new destiny and ascend to heights I’d only ever dreamed of. But first, I must create a safe haven in the wilds to protect those who have been hunted for far too long.

"Dude! It finally came!" My roommate barely withheld his excitement as he barreled into the living room of our apartment with a package in his hand. "Check it out, Jacob." He smiled as he tore at the brown paper surrounding his purchase. As he ripped the covering off the package, bits and pieces scattered all across the floor of the living room like confetti. For a second, I thought about lecturing Todd about not making a mess of our apartment, but who was I kidding? This place was already a shithole. At least some half-assed confetti would make it feel a little livelier.

Terrence Mack was born poor, grew up tough, and died hard. Waking up in a sea cave with nothing but the clothes on his back and a new bullet scar was enough to convince him that wherever his death had brought him, it wasn't paradise. His new world quickly proves to be a place of danger, magic, monsters, and - for Terry at least - women. Known on Celestine as a template, Terry's genes are key to the survival of the eldritch races. All Steve knows is that he’s apparently supposed to build a farm. At least that’s his only workable assumption. Given the number of farm-tools left to him. That and the massive number of sacks full of seeds. Unfortunately, this isn’t even the strangest part of this new life. Hidden inside the farm tools, Steve finds messages. Death isn’t always the end. I was a soldier, fighting for the lives of the whole world, when I went and got myself obliterated by this magic alien monster. I figured that was it. Game over, done. But, then I woke up in a different body, in a strange world full of dust and ruins, with awesome martial arts skills I’d never had before. Not to mention a chi gift thing that seemed to work a lot like magic. And, there were these words seared into my brain like a motivational quote: You can save them. You can save all of them.

Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

Publisher's Summary
Ian just wanted a job as a quality control tech for the biggest virtual reality game online. Instead, he met the woman of his dreams...who just happens to be a demoness from hell.
Ian starts off as a Level 1 Warlock, and after summoning a mischievous imp named Stig as his first servant, goes on a series of quests to win the ultimate prize: a sexy, smoldering succubus who will fulfill his every wish.
But Alaria has a mind of her own. When she’s not playfully seducing Ian and then driving him crazy, she’s plotting revenge against shadowy figures from her past.
Ian gets drawn into her plot, and the three of them - Warlock, succubus, and imp - go off on an adventure full of bloodlust, blood, and, well, lust.
Warning: This is a story featuring naked women, lots of foreplay, hot sex, demons, warlocks, violence, revenge, and moral quandaries.

Preachy With A Side of Alaria
I’ll start with the pros:
1. The voice acting done by Iggy Toma is well done and commendable. The narrator commands a range of voices which really uplifts the story for ease of listening.
2. Alaria. She is the only saving grace of this story besides Stig. Although unlikeable in the beginning, I enjoyed her character more and more as the story goes on, as she grew to be the driving force behind the plot with her schemes and personality.
3. The sex scene(s) were well done, if not annoying at times due to Alaria’s behavior.
The Cons:
1. The main character is an idiot. I get it, I really do; when a gorgeous, soul rending beauty is in sight, there’s nothing more that you can do than ogle her... especially if she’s a succubus. But having a character that is so very insecure and, frankly, nauseatingly incapable is hard to sell unless there are grounds by which to sympathize with. I tried, and succeeded at times to like Ian’s character, but largely it was Alaria that carried.
2. Philosophical inflection coupled with moral gray zones done right enrich a story and add a level of intrigue. This story does not achieve that. Instead, what this story does achieve is make the moral dilemma sound like a political statement that the author felt like, and I can only guess, was to give Ian something to become enlightened about, ending with the reader feel like he/she was in for a sermon. Slavery BAD. We know. Ian knows. And it felt like I was listening to a cartoon show that had to blatantly tell me, “This is wrong.”
To which Ian responds, “I was wrong and here’s why.”
Allusion exists, ya know.
3. Show, don’t tell. “My heart was crushed”. Right. Five more times and we’ll start being repetitive. And while I get that this isn’t supposed to be High Fantasy with amazing amounts of scene building or character description, I feel like more than Alaria’s body should receive justice in description.
Will I read the next books in the series? I don’t know. From what I’ve read of the summaries of other people’s reviews for the next books it doesn’t look promising as Alaria seems to go through the same plot troubles as in this book. It’s disappointing and predictable but maybe on a rainy day I’ll aim to pick the next one up if there’s nothing else to read.

the MC is a total joke
this MC has no control over himself, he gets things pointed out to him seconds before and it just fly's straight over his head. the demons are fine tho the succubus arguments could be so easily dismissed by the MC, but he can only think in one way. and he has no ability to reflect when needed in conversations with her.

Frustration.....not in a good payoff way!
Spend 34 chapters hating the Main Character because he seems to forget he's in a video game and can reroll bad characters!
The main character complains his real life girl left him then proceeds to let himself get treated like a bitch by a virtual hotty.
I understand the need for conflict and progression but the MC is treated like a weak & very stupid manga character. It's not till almost the very end the author trys to justify the treatment but I had already speed to the end.
Nothing can be help by this succubus being incredibly hot and an asshole to her Summoned Master. Fine, the guy won't take advantage of her and even gives into her horrible quest but the bitchy attitude never lets up. I don't believe 4 chapters out of 40 is enough good will.
Nothing is wrong with the narrator and I'm sure more succubus books will sell because of the subject but I only hope it gets WAY better!
Anyways this kind of book isn't for me because the payoff in the end is sooooo little!

Big let down
Let me start off by saying that the "Publisher's Summary" will give you the wrong idea about this story. I came to this hoping for a great story about a demon summoner with dark magic. (something that is hard to find) But what I got was a basic overused bitchy High school trope of bitch cheerleader and nerd how helps the cheerleader.
Over 85% of this is just the succubus Alaria complaining about her past, or sexually teasing the main character and getting pissy when he takes her bait. I get that she has problems from her past but Good god let it problem grow into the story and not just repeat it OVER AND OVER AND OVER! there is almost zero character growth of any kind until the end of the first book, which leads to a big F-U for readers that wanted to see a story about a Warlock.
The Demons the main character does summon are rule lawyer's to the extreme finding any to circumvent any request or order they can, it was funny at first, but it NEVER STOPS!
For the readers looking for romance and sex look someplace else, the romance is cringy and the sex has NO feeling to it what so ever.
The fault is not all on the creator of this story, the Performance by the Narrator. Iggy Toma. is just plain flat, no matter what is going on the inflection does not change, it always the same tone of voice.
So, I am sad to say this story was a huge missed opportunity

The most incompetent lead character ever written.
The main character’s mental capacity is staggeringly low. The sexual fantasy succubus can’t make up for all the short comings in writing. Maybe the writer was dumbing this down and over did it. If this book made you dig deep as the cover five star review suggest I pity you sir. I’m not a troll this my first full review. It simply that bad. It gets better towards the end but that’s not saying much.

not my thing
there was more sexual content than I was expecting, it was hard to get into the "damsel in distress" theme being a succubus. the characters are decent. being an audio book, I'm not sure if the author wrote mana to be pronounced mahnah, super annoying at first but only slightly annoying by the end of the story. overall it's ok, if you're into sexual innuendo, nearly every situation ends up in some form of it, than you'll enjoy this book. not my thing but it may be for you.

awful main char boring story
Even for the style of light novel this is the worst Ive read or listened to. The main char is supposed to be an adult but acts like a brain damaged 14 year old virgin. I couldnt get more than 1/2 way through. Most of what i listenes to was the same scene played out the same way over and over. If you want to hear a some kid who has never met a woman before stammer and stutter and the same woman described the same way 50x this is book for you.

It's Web fiction at best and general smut at worst
Succubus is like a singer trying to hit the high notes of a song but not only does it fail at reaching those notes it fails to build up to it. The book try's to build a relationship between whatever the succubus and protagonist are called(its been a day and I've already forgotten) but instead spins a tail of a slave that was physicaly abused its entire life finally being treated well and sticking to whomever did it. I don't quite think the author realises how dark their book truly is because all of the darkness is pushed as something the protagonist uses to grow as a person when everything he does and happens to him should tramatise him. The portion of the book where he was a slave was horrible. The fact that the author tried to push him working in the mines for a day as him finally understanding the plight of the slaves is beyond me - no fuck you, you're a twat who somehow can't comprehend slavery. The last quarter of the bookwas rushed and there was no hook present anywhere. It is a person with a highly infectious disease and should be avoided at all costs. There were a bunch of references to pop culture in the book that pretty much amounted to "Remember this!" some people might like them but for me they were very cringey. The most offending part of the book for me at least was the set up for the sequal; it consisted of a letter from a character asking for help. Of all the ways you could of continued the story why the fuck would you do that? Now for most people that's fine but for me it's a lazy cop out I expect from some one on wattpad not audible. Narrator was extremely good though.
To all the people who got through my rambles a final warning, don't get this book.
