Sometimes, the worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves. They build and build into a façade of transparency and false truth that we present to the world...until it comes crashing down because of that one person who sees right into you. “Just one more time.” “It’s not even like that.” “I’m not tripping about it.” “I’m fine. Really.”

Love that says something, instead of just looking like it. Love you can always trust to feel like home. For both of them, it’s something that has always been just outside of their peripheral, something to be observed rather than experienced. A depth of feeling reserved for people who were “into” that, those with a different outlook, those more...deserving. Until their paths cross.

Story
It all came down to me. The one who followed the rules, never went looking for trouble - I kept to myself. I just wanted to take care of my family. To not constantly look over my shoulder, worried about the things that went bump in the night. I just wanted to survive. But that wasn't meant to be. As luck - or fate, or something - would have it, the trouble found me. I followed a rabbit through the wreckage of a half-ruined world to get back what was mine, and wound up at the end of it. In Wonderland. But there's nothing magical about it.

Asha's life is no fairytale, by any stretch of the imagination. There was no kind, generous father to care for and protect her from the Vegas that exists beyond the glitz and glamour of The Strip. No wise, doting mother to look over and guide her, passing down essential lessons and leading her to the right path. And certainly, no Prince Charming just around the corner, ready to rescue her from working late nights to cover steadily mounting bills.

Christina C. Jones did an amazing job with this enemies-to-lovers storyline. Kyle and Ben were truly representative of the term “opposites attract”. I love how there is strong family dynamics as well as a supportive group of friends who aren’t afraid of telling it like it really is! This story showcases how grief affects everyone differently and the coping mechanisms used to overcome tragedy is individual to each person’s perspective. Sean Crisden and Wesleigh Siobhan were excellent narrators who brought all the “Feels” to this emotionally charged
relationship. An added bonus was that this story wasn’t about only young love but pertained to love of a certain age too.

This Book Was Everything!!!
The Culmination of Everything was everything! I absolutely loved this book! Kyle and Ben’s love story started off unconventionally. These two bumped heads from the jump. Primarily because, Ben was an azzhole. This dude was so dislikeable. Kyle has come to Sugar Valley to heal her heart after losing her husband and daughter to gun violence two years earlier. While reflecting on the mountaintop, she has a run in with a bear and Ben has to save her. Fast forward 48 hours later when they run into each other at the bar in the inn and Ben is outrageously rude for absolutely no reason at all. I mean, this dude was all kinds of out of line. From that moment on, Ben and Kyle embark on a rollercoaster ride of dislike for one another. But, as we delve deeper in the book, we find out that Ben is dealing with his own trauma which, is the cause for his atrocious behavior. Kyle and Ben were two broken hearted souls who were perfect for one another. They may not have known it at the time but, they were what each other needed to start their healing process. Then we have a little senior drama brewing on the side with Regina and Doris and their deceased and ex-husbands. As much as I loved this book, I had a few issues with it. Why was there no closure with Morgan? The last we saw of him was when he was having dinner with Kyle and some other people. After she and Ben had their fight, we didn’t hear from Morgan again. I feel like we should’ve had some kind of closure with him because, Kyle definitely led him on. Did he ever find out about Kyle and Ben? Why was the fact that Kyle was older than Ben never bought up? I feel like that’s something that should’ve addressed. They never discussed their ages with one another so, I don’t think Kyle even knew she was older than Ben. And, the whole baby issue is something that should’ve been resolved. She kept telling Ben she couldn’t have kids but, they never discussed other alternatives. It’s almost like she kept bringing it up because, she didn’t want to have anymore kids. And, I know good and well that can’t be considering how Regina kept going on and on about wanting grandbabies. Other than those issues, The Culmination of Everything was a great book. It was definitely a love story for the grown and sexy.

Ben is such an a**hole, and I love him!
This is a true example of how some men have a hard time expressing their feeling in words. However, Kyle is time enough for him. She reminds me of myself(smile). This is a good read and you will not be disappointed. Also, the narrators did an awesome job. I’ll be listening to this one again!

A great surprise
I went into this blind. It was on sale and it had a requirement for my reading challenge. I’m glad I got it.
The story is about life after loss. The story is told so beautifully that I wondered if Sugar Valley is a real place.
I won’t go into details lest I spoil it for someone… go into this blind. It’s gripping, riveting, sweet and I even teared a little… I loved the way Christina C. Jones introduced us to the characters, how the characters were each layered and all had some back story that was also revealed in beautiful layers… Ben’s mom… whoa!!! LoL I really enjoyed this book.
What I absolutely loved was that the characters were not in their late teens or early twenties with plethora of knowledge then act dumb. Christina C. Jones was able to write about normal people, these people doing age appropriate things with noramls worries, normal situations making everything so interesting without fluffying it up or create unnecessary drama to make the Hero rescue (he did rescue her but it made sense) or act macho all the while the heroine sounds dumb and immature… this was so refreshing!
(I’m on this dark and dirty romances and refuse to read anything else right now but this had a little of 🌶 that I appreciated but still stayed wholesome… I hope the holier than thou folks won’t think it’s too much……)
I hope others enjoy it the way I did… I’m still thinking of Sugar Valley and it’s inhabitants long after I finished… like did she get a job she liked in the big city? Did she ever find out about Kyle and Ben? How was the wedding? It’s really a good book 😍
Love it so much I bought 2 copies to remind me and maybe, just maybe I would get it signed by the author one day. Then another one I gave as a present...it's that good!

Awesome Book
This was a great book to listen to. I love how a boxer from a different author was mentioned. The characters and the story were a great a mix of just enough and not too overpowering of one or the other. For some reason, I want this story to continue. The tragedies & traumas that we experience have a stronghold on our hearts. The grief can cripples you into a standoff of depression and sorrow. Only you know what’s best! Thank goodness Kyle knew something needed to be done and she met Ben while doing it. The narrators were great. I am impartial to to Siobhan. Great work📕!
