Story
How do you feel about setting goals? I’ve heard people say they feel energized, depressed, confused, terrified, pumped, ambivalent, lost...or all of the above. Here’s what I’ve realized: Our relationship to success is inside-out. When we make our New Year’s resolutions, bucket lists, big plans, or weekly to-dos, we’re hoping that when we "arrive" we’ll be fulfilled. Our hearts will swell as we cross the finish line, and then we can finally relax and savor our happiness. Except more often than not, that doesn’t happen....

Workbook for The Mountain Is You By Brianna Wiest: Transforming Self-Sabotage into Self-Mastery

Story
The fundamental premise on which the book The Mountain Is You is based is the idea that it is only when we hit rock bottom, when we reach the edge, when there is a breakdown, that we experience an awakening. It is then that a breakthrough happens. There is often incongruence between our awareness of what we want and not being aware of why we come in our own way of getting to it. Nature is designed to grow. So is the human form. Sometimes, however, human beings only change when there is no other option but to change.

Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

Learn About the Slight Edge That Will Bring Success and Happiness into Your Life in a Fraction of the Time It Takes to Read the Actual Book!
In the first chapter, Jeff Olson introduces his readers to the idea that every single person on this planet has the potential to turn either into a poor, unsuccessful beach bum or into a successful entrepreneur with a huge balance in his bank account. He tells his own story - about how he went from failure to success to another failure, how he slowly learned that failure and success both happen for the same reason, and that this one single reason can work either for or against you, depending on how you use it. Listeners are motivated by listening on because they would like to know more about the idea that people have complete control over the directions their lives are taking.

Were is the actual book?
While the performance and narrator did a good job I was just dissapointed that the actual book is not being sold here on audible making this summary pointless... If we had liked what we had heard then the actual book should be available as well so that we may enjoy the full story.

Summary
I was looking for the Slight Edge on audible and not able to find it. I prefer to listen to a book then sit and read it :). I came across this summary on audible and read some of the reviews and decided to purchase. After listening to this summary I will most likely purchase the book to read. This summary in my opinion gives enough information to get the idea of the book and how it is laid out. I am glad that Jeff Olsen does not promise anything but holds you accountable to make it happen for yourself. It is not about instant gratification and if it was, that gratification would only last a moment. If we work at the things we want we will appreciate it so much more in the end.
