The history of humankind:

Written by Yuval Noah Harari, Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind explores the cultural evolution of Homo sapiens throughout the ages. It begins with early man, several species under the Homo genus, and continues chronologically through the ages. Harari’s explanations of human biology, psychology, and history is connected to the basis that humankind has not evolved in a very long time, and they are essentially the same hunter gatherers they always have been on a psychological level, only now they’re living in an industrial world.

Pretty good

Sapiens is a fascinating history of humans, written from the perspective of how we got to where we are now and where we are gone. Yes, the writer makes statements without providing back-up proof. Yes, the educational strategy is not as accurate as other books.

Fantastic. Immersive. Brain expanding.

As a result, this audiobook is highly speculative with details loosely mixed but the author does not have especially interesting thoughts.

Interesting Approach

I like this audiobook but only from the attitude of the writer giving new ways of thinking about us as a species. I don't believe a user should take his propositions as fact but as interesting opportunities. I am happy that I learn this summary form of the book as I am concerned with listening and examining other matters (too many) right now.

Worth the time

A lot of our actions can be traced back to our relatives but there are more subtleties than that. Determining how we have changed ourselves over the ages and revolution also helps us better realize how each step was important.

Summary of Sapiens

Found it one of the most exciting nonfiction books I’ve ever followed. I got so much more about our ancestors and recognize their elegance and understanding that progress is a mixed bag, both positive and negative...

Nice Summary

I have only learned Sapiens so far. It is confusing in the way it looks at history. Whether his performance of how Sapiens came to be born, his take on beliefs, or how we are in a capitalist system after other systems failed, these ideas make you question your faith and what you have learned in school. I'm reading Deux now and will probably re read Sapiens.

Super audiobook!

I had no sense that there were other human species on the planet. And it didn't pass my mind that our mind mixed with our cooperation allowed us to outcompete every other species in the world.

Useful

Pretty clear and illuminating course in human history from a prospect that surely challenges our theories of what is accurate and faithful. Wow!
