Lovely Story!

A lovely heart warming story which brought a tear to my eye!

I would definitely recommend it but make sure you read the Little Street Bakery first.

Great story line and characters! Loved it

What made the experience of listening to Summer at the Little Beach Street Bakery the most enjoyable?

The story line and introduction of the characters and the puffin! It was well written and well read! I loved it just as much as the first one too.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Huckle was my favourite character due to how laid back he was his free spirit and he sounds like a hunk!

What does Anne-Marie Piazza bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The way she portrays the characters is spot on and her accents make the story come to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I wanted to listen to it all at once!!! Didn't want to stop!

Much enjoyed would recommend to any or my friends for a good chilled listen.

Difficult to listen to

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Better narration and less ridiculous plot and characterisation

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It relied too much on a previous book (I mistakenly thought the Beach Cafe book I'd read was related to this one).

How could the performance have been better?

Learn how to pronounce Mousehole and Polperro properly
Don't even try to do American and west country accents - they were appalling

What character would you cut from Summer at the Little Beach Street Bakery?

Ruben and his wife

Plus I'd make Huck British so I didn't have to listen to the appalling accent

The whole Neil the Puffin thing really annoyed me, it seemed so unlikely. However, I was already annoyed when the narrator mispronounced the place names in the introduction! I spent most of my childhood in the west country and I found it very difficult to listen to this book.

Another great story...

Yet another great book from Jenny Colgen. I was gripped from beginning to end. A lovely story which had me smiling one minute, and crying my eyes out the next. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I hope there will be another story soon

Haven't put the Telly on for 3 days loved this book and loved Polly, and I would defiantly lesson too again xx super book, supper writing and a fabulous narrater xx

Another cracker from Colgan

Always an enjoyable read: loveable characters, beautiful setting description and just enough suspense to keep you reading without anything too dramatic. Greatly enhanced by reading whilst on holiday in Cornwall! :-)
