Nonsensical

Really disappointed in this book. The Milliner's Secret by Natalie Meg Evans is one of my favorite books, so when I saw this one come out on audible I was truly excited. Unfortunately the story line is all over the place, there's a poorly done supernatural premise, and the ending doesn't even make sense. The protagonist is also a passive idiot. The accents were on point, however the narrator's voice sounds like an elderly sheep farmer's wife and doesn't fit the 20 something protagonist at all. I wish I had skipped over this one.

Mystery/historical w/ paranormal elements+romance

Summer in the vineyards is a more complex book than its title may lead you to believe. It may sound like it's going to be a contemporary romance. This is an interesting mystery book with historical fiction and includes fantastical and paranormal elements and some romance.

The first thing that had me intrigued was Shauna and Laurent's matching tattoos. They have never met and yet have this same unique tattoo which has a deeper meaning to it. There is a good cast of characters.

There is a link with and flashbacks to ww2 and the resistance fighters. This plays a large part of the book and it can be quite dark at times. Definitely different!
