Publisher's Summary

Free from the Shadowscape, Gryff returns to the world only to find two months have passed him by, but it’s nothing compared to what’s in store for him next. Gryff has his hands full between enclaves falling, undead bounty hunters hell bent on revenge, and oh yeah, the council is out to get him, too. But Gryff has become more powerful, and none of his enemies can predict what he is now capable of.

Great listen

This is another great installment in this series. The story is expanding and the danger growing. Joshua Story does an excellent job narrating and bring it to life.

Fantastic series

I love this series and cannot await for it to continue. Joshua Story is an amazing narrator with a wide range of voices to bring the story to life.

I live the series but

I have a major issue with the mutt of the council getting any kind of power over griff or the others. you wrote her like shes not an idiotic asinine git. They should have just killed the stupid ignorant twit.

A Flop

This book is almost like the author completely forgot the story. He writes in numerous plot holes and problems that didn't exist before. Magics up an enemy that is somehow both impossibly strong and weak at the same time. Not to mention the multiple times the narrator mixed up the voices. It's honestly very frustrating for a series that had a pretty good story to be dropped in the mud like this entry was.

I'm going to listen to number 7 but if it's as bad as this one I'll drop the series.

the narufe part was very ignorant to much talking like both sides talk and talk instead of using 2 percent of brain power and killing people when needed like i get plot but its pretty dumb

It's alright

Like the novel so far, hope it gets a bit change of pace. The arc is a bit meh.

Fun story. Only one complaint.

This is a fun story to listen to and enjoy for what it is, a good old hero story.

My only complaint is the MC monologuing, and tough-guy comments in dangerous situations. He acts basically like an idiot and makes me want to facepalm every time.

If the author reads these reviews please do not make the MC such an impulsive idiot.

The strength of the story or my favorite parts is the summoning fights. Too bad, there are not more of them.

listen!

first of all this is the sixth book so I'm pretty invested so I'll say this, the books are enjoyable but this will be my last one and here are my reasons.
1. The MC!! Griff is the biggest problem. He's dumb basically. He wins at everything always even though he never thinks in any situation, every girl that walks by him is instantly in love with him and wants to jump his heroic bones. There's just no depth to the character. Hes a bleeding heart with a member.
2. The books feel like they were translated from another language, one of the characters literally says "shredded to smithereens" and there are a literal legion of other things like this.
3. Gwayne is the only character in this series that has had any character development.
4. There are a multitude of women around Griff at all times and they are basically portrayed as useless. The only person who can ever do anything cool is Griff adding to the 10 year old power fantasy.

Stopped reading

I started this series because it had pretty good potential in the way of story line, but this is getting kind of annoying now. He acts like Gods gift to women, and every woman that he meets just throws themself at him for absolutely no reason. It's almost like he walks down the street then a random woman walks in front of him; suddenly she's the most beautiful woman in the world and she's sleeping with him two paragraphs later.......it's pretty over-the-top.

good very good telling very bad writing

att least 4 contradictions with previous books in 1 book its like the writer forgot what hes written and it the time frame was multtiple years you could say its human natture to forget somethings but within 1 year forgetting that the sungiants was (maylor?)s fatheer and thinking it was his biologic father is not realistick

I really don't like that guy.

another nice story with decent characters and good narrator. I just don't like the main protagonist as he really annoys me with his attitude.

Another Down.

Just finished this latest installment and I'm still thoroughly enjoying this series. The progression in this books moves at an intense pace. some parts are a little dry at times but Joshua Story does a fantastoc job keeping you engaged.
