Story
From his perspective in Renaissance Italy, Machiavelli's aim in this classic work was to resolve conflict with the ruling prince, Lorenzo de Medici. Machiavelli based his insights on the way people really are rather than an ideal of how they should be. This is the world's most famous master plan for seizing and holding power. Astonishing in its candor The Prince even today remains a disturbingly realistic and prophetic work on what it takes to be a prince, a king, or a president.

Story
The Art of War dates back to the fifth century BC, and is an ancient Chinese military handbook. Attributed to the intelligent military strategist Sun Tzu, the title of the work is Master Sun's Rules of Warfare when literally translated from Chinese. The book contains 13 chapters, each of which are dedicated to a single aspect of warfare strategy. Emperor Shenzong of Song deemed it the most important of China's Seven Military Classics in 1080 and it is still one of the most influential strategy texts in East Asia.

Discover the ancient wisdom of The Prince and The Art of War. Both masterpieces were written hundreds of years ago and are fundamentals in the areas of decision-making and strategic leadership. Due to the nature of how they were written, few people today have actually read the books in detail and applied them in modern society. This is a result of the different era in which the books were written, and the language they were written in.

Mention the name Niccolò Machiavelli and you might unleash a powerful response-even among people who have never read a word of his writing. The word "Machiavellian" conjures up images of an indistinct figure quietly making his way through the darkest corridors of power; a cold-blooded political liar; or a coolly practical leader - amoral at best - willing to do whatever is necessary in a world governed not by ideas of right or wrong, but by solutions dictated by realpolitik.

Publisher's Summary
Sun Tzu's The Art of War and Machiavelli's The Prince both are fundamentally important works related to the areas of strategic leadership and decision making. Although almost every leader has heard of these works, very few have read them in depth and applied the lessons they contain to their own lives. This is a huge oversight. Both books contain wisdom and advice that are applicable to almost any situation a leader finds himself in.
Both books have reputations for being dense and difficult to understand. This is due to the fact that both were written in other languages and for other time periods. It can be difficult to know exactly what Sun Tzu and Machiavelli intended to convey with their words - and even more difficult to know how to take action on the ideas.
This has all changed. For the first time ever, the ideas of The Prince and The Art of War have been combined, updated, and presented in a way that is easy to understand in our modern era. Previously hard-to-interpret concepts have been clarified and shown to be as useful in our own era as they were in the ones for which they were originally written.
By listening and taking action on this book, entitled Sun Tzu & Machiavelli Leadership Secrets, by author Anthony D. Jensen, you give yourself the chance to become the most effective leader you can be. You will learn how to use timeless principles of leadership, psychology, and power to achieve everything you set out to do. Both your private and professional lives will benefit immensely from understanding and applying the leadership secrets of Sun Tzu and Machiavelli.

Important Read for Leaders
As a law enforcement officer and leader, I have studied the tactical aspects of Sun Tzu for years. The Art of War is not an easy read though. I read a little about Machiavelli, but didn't think I really needed to know that style of leadership. This book is basically the Cliff Notes version of "The Art of War" and "The Prince." It is an important read because you may never aspire to be "Machiavellian" but others shall. You need to see the warning signs, and possibly preempt and retaliate against people of this sort. Tzu says "know your enemy" and this book will help you ferret them out, whether they are inside or outside of your organization.
