Publisher's Summary

With no help in sight, could you make the hard choices?

After risking everything, Grant and Leah Walton are finally reunited. But it's no happy ending. As the reality of the situation dawns on their neighbors, the Waltons find themselves the subject of more than idle curiosity.

Not everyone can be trusted. People they counted as friends now look at them with suspicion and fear. Faced with neighbors determined to take all they have, Grant and Leah prepare to leave. But strangers have other plans.

If someone threatens all that you hold dear, could you fight back?

In a world without enforcement, rules mean nothing. When a band of thieves turn a neighborhood disagreement into an all-out war, Grant and Leah must find the strength to not only fight, but survive. Not everyone will make it.

The attack is only the beginning.

Infuriating

Now don’t get me wrong the writing is excellent and the voice acting is good. What I find so infuriating is the absolute moronic actions these people take. I had to stop listening a few time because I could not get how stupid these characters were. If they were real people they deserve to die just so they wouldn’t pass on their genes. Tate’s other series was better but again the actions of these characters were almost as bad.

Sad idealism

Just shoot them in the leg. Really. A otherwise well researched series. Enjoy the idea of just wounding bad guys.

3 books should be made ONE!!

book 2 and 3 of this series were short and more about encounters and injuries that were too gory to be believable. Thus only 3 stars rating. It would make a better read if all books were combined into one 4 or 5 star rating. "Save your money and wait til they are combined into one".

great book

Harley Tate delivers yet another great book in this genre. Tate is quickly becoming one of my favorites. If Harley reads these, all I ask is that you dont l wa t the main characters get so banged up. Holy $#!+ are these people tough.
