Publisher's Summary

A sexy, small town, second-chance romance.

Thanks to a drawn-up-while-drinking-moonshine partnership agreement, Madison Allain has to spend 30 days back on the bayou before she can sell her part of the family business.

And if the heat and humidity and freaking alligators of Louisiana aren’t enough to agitate the cool and in-control California girl, then Owen Landry, the equally hot guy who stole her heart 12 years ago, will sure do the trick.

Owen just has to remember three simple-ish rules: Do not fight with her. Do not fight over her. Do not kiss her. He can do this. He’s charming and friendly for a living after all. But this is Maddie. The only woman to ever shake up this laid-back bayou boy.

Besides, she’s not staying. No way. These people and this town make her crazy. She doesn’t want to be crazy. She definitely does not want to own a swamp boat tour company. She just wants to paint. In her quiet, beautiful, alligators-not-allowed, air-conditioned art studio.

As for that hot bayou boy? Well, he’s...amazing. But he belongs here in the South. And she definitely doesn’t. Even if her heart stays behind when she leaves.

Sweet and Fluffy

This was one definitely giving me Sweet Home Alabama vibes.

I am a sucker for a sweet, small town romance with little to no angst and this one was all that.

I craved the fluffy goodness from this book. The storyline wasn't the most unique but it worked for me.
The plotbwas well executed and the characters were likeable and relatable.

The author's writing style appealed to me and I liked the setting of the story.

The narrators did a great job on the narration.
Definitely recommend this if you like a sweet opposites attract romance

I wanna go!

This is another great book by Erin Nicholas. The whole Louisiana clan is great and makes me want to join them! Sweet Home Louisiana gives you Owen and Madison's story. I had wondered how Madison would play into this story line and she fit in well. It was hard going back to a place where loss was part of her past but she knew she needed to close the door to move on. Owen is a laid back alpha who had feelings for Madison. He didn't want her to go back to the life she had been living so he decided to work on getting her back to her roots in the 30 days that's been warranted to their agreement. You need to get this book now not only for the narrator but for the words as well. I love the Landry family and I want to know how I can hang out with them? Great job Erin!

Perfection!

While I have lived this whole series, it just keeps getting better and better! Maddie and Owen are perfect!

Maddie is back, but only because she has to be. Watching the push and pull between her and Owen had my heart racing. Owen is pretty much book boyfriend perfection. He's funny and swoony. While I wanted to tell at Maddie a few times, I also understood her motives for resisting. Watching their story develop was so much fun.

As usual, the rest of the characters in this series were heavily involved in the story. It's always great to see how everyone else is doing and laugh along with their latest antics. I love all of them!

The narration was spot on. I loved the timing and tone of this narration. All the emotions and humor came through perfectly!

Maddie and Owen: in love at 16 and again now.

Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nicholas is a romantic comedy, part of the Boys of the Bayou series, full of hot women and hotter men. The story takes place on the bayou in Louisiana at the tour company, Boys of the Bayou, run by the Landry family. In a tragic twist of fate, one of the partners, Tommy, who we never met, was killed in an accident, leaving his share to his sister, Madison. Living in San Francisco and working at an art gallery, Maddie has no need for a tour boat company and has notified them that she wants to sell her share and she has a buyer. As part of the original partnership agreement between her grandfather and Leo Landry, she has to spend 30 days working at the business before she can sell. Owen Landry had been in love with Maddie when they were teens and has never really forgotten her. The oldest of the, Sawyer, has instructed him to behave well, while she is there and above all, no kissing.
This is a funny, sexy story, full of bayou humor as well as a host of bayou characters. Josh how had Tori living there with him after buying her a farm and collecting all his animals from Iowa. As it becomes clear to Maddie that many of the female customers come to the bayou just for the bayou boys, she begins to find ways to thwart their efforts: Josh, because she really likes Tori and it's clear he's uncomfortable; Owen, because she's jealous, although she doesn't recognize it at first. And there is kissing. And more. Both Maddie and Owen are trying to protect their hearts and their business. Maddie brings some business acumen and professionalism to the dock, when she isn't worried about Owen, and they love her for it. The month eventually runs out.

The audible rendition of the book is a good one. The female narrator, Angie Hickman, has a bit of an odd voice at first, but it grew on me as I listened to the book. She picked up hints of a Southern accent, which made it all the more fun to listen to Tanner De Bruyne had a terrific voice, but the only accent I caught was hints of a Canadian one. He was great to listen to, but a bit more of the South would have made it even better. All-in-all, it was a great listen. One I will return to when I need a lift.

I was invited to listen to a free copy of Sweet Home Louisiana by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another Fun-Filled Bayou Adventure

I loved this story!! This is a great second chance romance between Bayou easy-going sexy brother Owen and the beautiful, strong-willed, fiery Madison. Maddy is such fun!!! She has a mind of her own, not just giving in to any man. She is pulled home after the death of her brother to spend 30 days at the family business in order to sell it, but she has to get through not only 30 days of memories, but 30 days with the tempting and sexy Own who has always lit her world up like the fire she once set to defend him.

This is a must read/Listen! tanner and Angie do an amazing job with the narration! This was another great book in the series that isn't too similar to the first one, keeping the story original and fresh. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Second chance for home

I adored this book!! I love that Maddy can go home again after being away for over a decade and the family she left behind welcomes her with open arms if not a little trepidation. I love that this family of Laundry’s is as crazy as they are and aren’t afraid to show it. I love that Owen is a big softy when it comes to protecting those he loves and cares about. I love that Owen puts himself second to everyone else and provides what everyone needs. I loved the narration that brought these characters to life for me.

Second Chance Romantic Comedy

Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nicholas is a second chance romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Angie Hickman and Tanner De Bruyne.

This is the second book in the Boys of the Bayou series and can be read as a standalone. However, I would highly recommend reading them in order since the stories are interconnected.

This is the second book of Erin's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. Her books always leave me with a smile. I absolutely loved the relationship between Owen and Maddie.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series Beauty and the Bayou so I can get Sawyer and Juliet's story.

Angie and Tanner did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you love second chance romances, romantic comedies, or small town romances.

Heartswooning with a dash of craziness you

Erin Nicholas creates magic with every story. She has a way of making you feel like you are actually in that world. Erin Nicholas is definitely a favorite author of mine. I truly love the world's and the hot and sexy men she creates. Erin Nicholas captivated my heart from the beginning.

I love the Landry family. I hate the heat but I am ready to go to Autre, Louisiana and stay. Owen and Maddie have a chemistry that is amazing. I loved how their story unfold before my very eyes. They have so much passion and heat. I felt everything listening to Sweet Home Louisiana. I cried, my heart skipped a beat and I laughed. There were heartswooning moments and a dash of craziness you can only get in the Bayou. Sweet Home Louisiana is more than a romance. Sweet Home Louisiana is a second chance romance and a story of family and friendship and letting go. I found myself amazed at how deep Owen loves Maddie. After all these years of being apart from each other he still knows her completely. I'm so in love with the Boys of the Bayou. With each story Erin gives us in this breathtakingly phenomenal series it gets better and hotter. Whew those boys are definitely irresistible. I couldn't stop listening to Sweet Home Louisiana. I listened to this all in one night resulting in a very late night with Owen and Maddie. I love all the great secondary and supporting characters.

I loved how easy I found it to listen. The narrators, Angie and Tanner were very clear. They spoke with emotion. I felt as if I were talking to a friend about Owen and Maddie. I felt as if I were in Autre. It was easy for me to complete my tasks and listen to Sweet Home Louisiana. I had no problem keeping up.

I can't wait to see what Erin Nicholas has next for us. I was left wanting more and more. I don't ever want this series to end. This is truly my all time favorite Erin Nicholas series. So if you like hot, sexy and protective southern men and strong, wiley and sometimes sassy women you definitely will love Sweet Home Louisiana and Erin Nicholas.

Sweet Home Louisiana

Oh how I do love those bayou boys! This series is awesome so far with some great characters that grab you heart and don’t let go. The push and pull these two had was the perfect combination and watching them let their guards down again was just what I needed for my little getaway from real life.

Don’t listen while eating

This had me again crying with laughter while listening to it. I nearly chocked while trying to eat lunch while listening to this one so I declare it a no eating book. However this is a wonderfully written book with some of the most amazing characters they are quirky and different and so loveable.

There is plenty of humour and this made me love it even more, although this couple be considered a standalone why not enjoy the whole series.

Love this series

OK first off; Erin Nicholas' writing is amazing! I cannot believe I haven't stumbled upon any of her books before. This Boys of the Bayou series has seriosly captured me whole. I absolutely adore the whole family, so heartwarming and awesome both as individuals and as a family.
This book concentrates on Owen and Maddie, and oh boy, is their story a good and scorching hot one! I already liked Owen from the first book, but in this one, he got downright swoonworthy. Maddie has some emotional scars from past.. ahem.. mishaps, mostly because of her relationship with Owen in her teens. The chemistry they share when she does come back to town is off the charts. Damn I need an Owen too.
The narrators does an amazing job, each differentiate the characters brilliantly. And personally, I think it adds a whole new dimension to the story, when a story such as this with two main characters, each have their own narrator.
I highly recommend listening to this!

2nd chances

Maddie n Owen meet up again after 12 years. She has come back to Bayou to sell her brother portion of the business. she has tonwait 30 days. in that time she reconnects with Owen her first love.
Great characters. even side characters are great in the story.

the narrators are new to me. I really enjoyed Tanner narrations. he kept me listening.
Angie was okay. not a fav, she make the characters sound dumb and from the backwoods. she talked so slow. it was hard to listen to her. in this book.

Fabulous story

I LOVE these characters and I'm so happy to have spent more time with them. It just feels comfortable being in their world again. The story is great and made me chuckle so many times. Angie Hickman and Tanner De Bruyne bring the characters to life and I got used to the way they narrate them. Such a good listen.
