Publisher's Summary
The brand-new adventure from the beloved author of The Hundred Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared.
Victor Alderheim has a lot to answer for. Not only has he heartlessly tricked his young ex-wife, Jenny, out of her art gallery inheritance, but he has also abandoned his son, Kevin, to die in the middle of the Kenyan savanna.
It doesn’t occur to Victor that Kevin might be rescued and adopted by a Maasai medicine man, or that he might be expected to undergo the rituals expected of all new Maasai warriors - which have him running back to Stockholm as fast as you can say circumcision without anaesthetic.
Back in Stockholm, Kevin’s path crosses with Jenny’s - and they have an awful lot to talk about, not least a shared desire to get even with Victor. So it’s convenient when they run into a man selling revenge services, who has an ingenious idea involving Victor’s cellar, a goat, some forged paintings, four large boxes of sex toys and a kilo of flour....
Critic Reviews
"This novel zips along." (Sunday Times )
"In the first chapters of Sweet Sweet Revenge Ltd there’s enough plot for several novels.... Jonas Jonasson, best known for The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, is a wildly inventive writer, often funny, who stuffs his bonkers but entertaining story with art, politics and romance, and a tongue-incheek meditation on the philosophy of getting even. Great fun." (The Times)
"Jonas Jonasson creates hilarity out of brilliantly absurd plots, whether it is a 100-year-old man escaping through an old folk’ home window, or a South African peasant girl who saves the King of Sweden. His latest unlikely hero is Kevin who is abandoned by his callous father on the Kenyan savannah in the expectation he will be eaten by lions.... Add a crooked art dealer, a lazy Swedish policeman, an ophthalmologist whose wife ditched him for a urologist, and we are set for delicious Jonasson mayhem." (Daily Express)

Fabulous!
A total triumph of absurdism - and one in no small measure due to the contribution of the translator and the narrator.

One of his best yet
I've read all of Jonas Jonasson's books and but found it hard to engage with his last book as much (Hitman Anders) as the characters just weren't as likable. I feel like in this book he has really mastered the art of creating characters with more realistic moral depth who you can still find incredibly endearing. It's funny, clever and the storyline has just enough twists and turns to keep you hooked but not confuse you.
It's the type of book I wish I could read for the first time again.
Peter Kenny, as always, does a fantastic job reading and his acting really adds something to the wit of Jonasson's writing.

A bit of light relief
Looking for a few hours of harmless fun, where almost nobody dies?
A bit of a slow ending, but this one is all about the journey.
Eagerly awaiting the next one💪

Good Easy Listening
Not quite as funny as the 100 year old man books but still a good listen full of 'coincidences'. Excellent narration.

Great story, average narrator
The story was quirky and whimsical, quite light altogether and funnier than I expected. I would definitely recommend. It is a shame about the narrator who had a slight lisssp and could become dissssstracting at times.

A good story but in need of much editing
Up to about halfway through listening to this book I was thoroughly engaged. The narrator was good and the storyline intriguing and the characters well developed. But the second half kept getting lost in details about characters who don’t build the story or move it along. A pity as I can’t really recommend a book just for half of it.

Another madcap adventure
I love Jonas Jonasson's books for their zaniness. Some more great moments here but didn't find myself as hooked or as amused as many of his previous stories. The ending wasn't quite as enjoyable as others and it seemed a little odd focusing the epilogue on the inspector rather than the main characters. I thought there'd be a final twist in the tale but there wasn't. I loved Ole Mbatian as a character and would be keen to read more of his abtics. .This is the first of Jonas Jonasson's books I've listened to on Audible and I haven't had much listening time of late so that perhaps made it more disjointed.

A waste of 9 hrs and 7 mins of my life
What a very, very silly book! I somehow finished it, but only because I thought it must eventually improve to deserve its quite high ratings. I was disappointed. If anything, it got worse.

Not my kind of book, but still good.
Not my kind of book but I still liked it. The narrator was great but sometimes forgot to switch between accents which threw me off a bit.

Hilariously weird
This is a really funny book and the characters are amazing. There is something a bit tragic to it, too, as the relationships are explored.
