Publisher's Summary

Is there anything sweeter than a first love?

Don't ask Claire Keyes. The 28-year-old piano prodigy has never had a regular boyfriend, much less a real romance. Her music career has left little room for friends or family - which is just part of the reason she hasn't seen the family bakery or her two sisters in years.

But now Nicole is sick, and Jesse is AWOL. Despite the fact that Claire can't boil water, she's determined to play caretaker. Connecting with her sisters tops her to-do list...along with falling in love, or at least in lust, for the first time.

Ruggedly sexy Wyatt just might fit the bill. Although he keeps saying that he and Claire come from entirely different worlds, he lights up hotter than a bakery oven whenever Claire is near. If this keeps up, she just might sweet-talk him into her bed...and her life.

Surprise

I was reluctant to purchase this book because of the other written reviews, but the summary of all three books in the trilogy convinced me to take a chance. I'm glad I did. I had either listened or read all of the Susan Elizabeth Phillips books and was looking for a new author to love. I think I found it. It was a good book. I can't wait to buy the other two. Also, the narrator was the second best I've heard on these audio books. Both the book and the narrator get an A- from me.

enjoyed

So far I have listened to all of Susan Mallery books on tape and have not been disappointed. I like the fact that she does the entire family. I hate loose ends. I hope I don't have to wait a long time before she does another series.

Where is the sweet talk???

What would have made Sweet Talk better?

That the Keys sister would have been a little nicer to each other. They were so mean and rotten to each other that it became painful to listen to the whole story.

What was most disappointing about Susan Mallery’s story?

That the Keys sister were sooooo supremely nasty and horrible to each other. Disfunctional family to the next level.

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

Therese Plummer is the very best narrator that I've ever listened to. She does an amazing job on every character and every story, even on this one that I did not love.

What character would you cut from Sweet Talk?

Both of Claire Keys sisters... But then it would not have been a series....

Any additional comments?

I really like Susan Mallery as an author but this was not her best work... I don't think I'll get the other books in the series....

Don't bother with this one

I was very disappointed in this book. Claire, the main character, is so pathetic it drove me crazy. I almost didn't make it to the end. I saw that someone had rated it 2 stars but I like Susan Mallory so I ignored it and bought this book anyway. I really wished I hadn't. Don't make my mistake. (I love the narrator, but she didn't have much to work with.)

Claire was too immature and naive

The only thing that bugged me about the book is how immature and naive claire was. I know the whole story behind her but OhMyGoodness!! Enough was enough already.

So bad, I couldn't finish.

I love a good romance, I am a fan Mallery's stories. This one..... I couldn't even finish it I was so uncomfortable. I usually always muscle my way through horrible books because darn it, I bought it and I'm going to finish it. I couldn't with this one. The characters are so unlikeable and unrealistic! I got so tired of the constant "My life sucks more" from every single character and the constant finger pointing. I just wanted to screem "ARE YOU PEOPLE ALL TWELVE?!". The sisters are all appalling and the main love interest is a idiotic prick. Even if you have heard horror stories about a person, to be that rude and nasty is a sign of someone who needs a therapist. Badly. I have no idea if he or any of the other characters get any better because I don't care enough to find out. All of them did a great job making me hate them enough to hope that they all continue with their horrible lives as punishment for their horrible personalities. The narrator was alright but the characters killed any signs of a good story. I would skip this trilogy.

GET all 3

Sweet Spot, Sweet Trouble, Sweet Talk. Read them in order. I enjoyed the narrator, characters and story line. I recommend it if you are a light-hearted love story kind of reader. Susan Mallery is always good. Go to her website, send her a message. She will send a personal response.

ok

I was rather of disappointed and shocked how this story was drawn out. It hurt to listen to it in it's entirety. Although I loved the main character I found the other two sister whining and I almost didn't want to listen to the entire story. I do believe the whole story could have been summed up a lot faster than it was. I love Susan Mallery's books and other audios and also the narrator but this was disappointing at best. Not sure if I will be interested in the two other books in this series.

Enjoyable book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend to a friend. It's a nice romance, fun to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, in fact I pretty much did listen to it all in a very short time.
