The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Half a century ago, an aberration was spotted by one of our earliest satellites, and summarily dismissed as a hardware malfunction. But it was no aberration. And no malfunction. It was an accidental glimpse of something extraordinary, and very old. Mocked for decades, the man who designed the satellite is now dead. With the system's original data firmly in the hands of former NTSB investigator Joe Rickards and anthropologist Angela Reed.

Another great plot and characters
Nathan Van Coops is amazing. No doubt my favorite writer. Incredible creative worlds and characters. Sword Fight will not let you down, Van Coops is king of on the edge of your seat adventures. Fantastically written while painting epic pictures in your mind. Narration was good and has a good voice, however was kind of too breathy into the mic and some hard cuts in transitions. The story is so good and I can't wait for the next book. Highly recommend! Give stars!

Truly remarkable!
I have been living this story for the last week two. My thoughts during the day drifting to the latest part of the story I had experienced the night before. The details and characters were much more vivid than if I had watched a movie.
The narration by Jess Nahikian is a work of art, quietly drawing me in, and expressing every character, every thought so fully, always leaving me amazed at the subtlety and depth of her voice.
I look forward to listening to it, and living it again soon.

He got me again!
TL/DR— amazing! Many thumbs up!! Must read!
First off, I almost never listen to a book I haven’t read.
Second, I wasn’t sure about this. I’m the first to line up for a good alt history. Give me Flint’s 1632 or 1812 universe, I’m cool. Love a good sword story, like The Belgariad. But cars and swords? I didn’t know what to think; I’m a huge fan of Nathan’s time travel books so I couldn’t resist the chance.
First chapter in, I was enthralled. The narrator was the perfect choice for the protagonist. The characters were vivid and compelling. By the end, I’ll admit, the hair stood in my arms a couple times. May have had a watery eye or two. Nathan reeled me into yet another universe and I’m hooked!
Two thumbs up, a must have for your library!!!

A tune of dueling swords and car engines
This was a great personal story, blending an unusual partnership composed of dueling swords and roaring car engines. The author opens up by explaining the alternate history which sets up this world. Narrator is top notch and skilled at the many voices she creates. The story is full of action and emotional highs and lows. I will definitely be checking out the next book.

This is a medieval world of sword-fighting and war
Valerie has always loved war cars and has been driving as long as she could reach the pedals. When her brother is tragically murdered in front of her, she's determined to bring the murderer to justice, no matter that he is from one of the most wealthy and powerful families. The only way she can do this is to somehow gain an audience with the King, and to do that she must enter the most dangerous tournament and win.
This is a medieval world of sword-fighting and war car racing. The start of this book actually made me think of a kind of grown up, evil, Wacky Races. But it was no where near as light-hearted! The story was gripping, I really wanted Valerie to get justice from the horrible Jasper, he was just so smarmy and irritating. I think the chapter headings definitely give too much away as I often knew the outcomes just from those. I loved Rico, he was the best character and I don't know what Valerie would have done without him.
I did think the book was let down a little bit by the narration. It got a bit tiring as the reading sounded constantly dramatic and desperate, even when just saying normal things.
