Publisher's Summary

Never again...

Christofer lives by those words while Cloe would rather die by them....

Too many years living on the run, of always being seen as nothing more than a monster and a freak, has left Christofer cold and distant. He hates his life, his fate, but he's made promises, and nothing on earth will stop him from keeping them...except for the woman who invades his world, takes him by surprise, aggravates him, gives him hope, and makes him wish that things could be different, but they can't. Not unless he's willing to risk everything.

Cloe doesn't need anyone, doesn't want any complications, but things quickly change when she accepts a job that destroys her world and brings her the one thing that she never thought she'd find again...peace.

New and improved narrator, 5 ionic stars! ★★★★★

I'm really glad for the narrator change! Celestine Wolf made this book such a pleasure to listen to. I'm surprised she only has three recordings under her belt, considering her impressive repertoire of voices.

As for the story, this is by far my favourite. I like how the world is expanding and we're no longer at the compound. Our honourable hero has such a tragic back-story. I feel so bad for Christopher and all the mistreatment he's endured in his long life. I came to love his love for Marta. I only wish he could have saved her sooner.

Christopher is truly unique. Imagine being the only one of your kind (as far as you know) and how incredibly lonely that can be. He draws as an escape to all of the BS around him. His younger sister Marta is his whole world, and she wants him to finally live his life for him. This is where Chloe comes into the picture. I felt like a fly on the wall, learning about their connection: they saved each other from the ghosts of their horrific pasts.

The Williams "Brady Bunch" make an appearance mid-way as a tie-in to the Pyte/Sentinel world. Mark finally gets more attention, it's baby-central at the mansion, Danni and Caine are on board, and Kale Quinn is still a heartless bastard of a mutt. But don't worry! He redeems himself at the end as Chloe's secret, alpha-guardian. I also love that Christopher is the most lethal being of them all. With so many new members of the blended family, they need all the protection they can get.

Overall, I like where this series is going, though I wish the females played a bigger role than just hormonal walking wombs. Warning: you may develop a sudden craving for chocolate after all of that silly junkfood-banter!

No update on Jill!!

I bought this book as wanted to know what happened to Jill. It has nothing to do with her and no insight on her. Although I really enjoyed this book felt a little cheated as previous book ended with a Cliffhanger about Jill. From reviews about next book I believe we still will not find Jill’s fate.

I would recommend but,

Every time I read a book from this series, I like the story but NOT the characters. He literally kills her, like ends her human life, (she only becomes immortal because she makes him bleed in return) and she wants him sexually a day later.?? Wtf seriously?!? ANNNND, she'd alreardy been physically assaulted by a guy before this too, to the extent of not being able to have children and being severely scared and barren, and now I'm supposed to believe she wants to be with a man who murderered her horrifically..?? Really?? No. No I don't like it or buy it. And he was a pig. Constantly telling her no, holding her against her will after he spent the 1st part of the book telling her to leave then won't let her go. I'm sorry, I like the story but not the characters. I think most readers of this series actually like the dominant man thing, but this series constantly goes too far for me. The sexy scenes are H.O.T. but not worth the other b.s. for me. I don't kno if there is more books to this series but this is the last book ill read from it.

Last 10 Seconds!

I seriously almost didn't get this book because one of the other reviews said there was no update on Jill. It wasn't much but there was mention of her in the last 10 seconds! Nothing on Josh this book though so be prepared for that small letdown!

I enjoyed this book nonetheless! Hoping it starts getting tied together instead of constant new characters and many unanswered questions though.

Way too much sex scenes!!

I love a good sex scene as much as the next girl but this one was way over the top. I ended up fast forwarding through half the book just to get on with it! They go on and on and seems like every other page! And they go one for a good 30 minutes every time.

Yummy

This series was recommended to me by Amazon and I am happy because they have been truly enjoyable. I laughed and cried for Cleo and Christofer. Hopefully there will be one with KALE QUINN because he to is the ultra predator. C Wolfe did a fabulous job narrating this book.

Ok but very slow

Like all the other books in this series, it's slow with lots of unnecessary dialogue. The story doesn't really go all that far. I enjoyed the world this author built but I'm finding each story in this series harder to get through. I enjoyed the main two characters quite a bit but it got a little confusing with the male lead being named Christopher while there's another character named Chris (the jerk sentinel). Seriously...you couldn't come up with another name? Overall, its ok. Much better than Chris/Izzy's story though. I really liked Christopher and hope they dig deeper into his origins.

🌻I’m enjoying this series, I’m adding it to my “favorites “ list🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

It’s really amazing how few really good paranormal series there are; especially one with originality. This series has really surprised me. It’s not as sexually explicit as some but, the characters are three dimensional and they interact with one another beautifully. These books all have a bit of tragedy, some drama, quite a bit of humor and a villain that needs to be beat. What more could a listener ask for? Good narration? Yep, these books have that too! To top it off, I was introduced to and have enjoyed each book, as a part of my Escape Package, membership. What a perfect combination!

Loving this series.

Love the way the each book stand on its own, but still make the reader want to read the next book to see happens next. The plots are not predictable, and satisfying.
